I was almost at the end of Doc: FFVII somewhere in Deepground when I came across a row of explosive barrels perched at a weird angle in the window of a building above me but when I shot all of the barrells a Cactuar fell down and ran off! my friend said that there are loads of them hidden in the game, has anybody else seen one?
 
Ah I did that. Tried to catch the bugger to see if anything special happens but to no avail.

Yeah apparently there are a few places in the game you can do it but thats the only one I've found aswell.
 
Only one I found as well, I tried killing it loads of different ways but nothing special happens. The only thing that one does is steal a nearby case so just pick up the case then shoot the barrel with the cactuar in.
 
That one that has the barrels in it, if you shoot and kill the Cactuar, something is suppose to happen. I'm not sure if it's a special weapon or some kinda key item, but you get something big from killing him. He was a fast punk. I couldn't kill him in time from what I remember.
 
yeah i saw that cactuar in the barrels. i even managed to knock in down for like half a sec. but for some bizzard reason i couldnt damage it. no hp digits were appearing like what normally happens
 
I heard that there's more than one in the game but maybe I'm wrong...
 
I just saw one!!!!!! it is in the part where you are trying to take back the WRO HQ (just after you have to take out the gunships with the mini gun). One is on the upper most platform on the right (in sillouette), you can snipe him. I did, not sure what it did and I did feel kinda guilty for sniping my fav FF monster!
 
:O I think I know what barrel you're on about but I never saw the Cactuar...
