Like a lot more than we can right now? like add a background image and Music and stuff? Minda make your profile more unique and personal, like Myspace.

I don't know if its possible or not but if it is i think it would be a good idea, because some people were talking about it on the Shoutbox and i decided to make a thread on it  it would just make our profiles more Unique ^_^ and it would be something different, that not many (if any at all) forums have done.

Actually Guv'na it's not.
Another forum which is the same type as this has a feature to add a youtube video to your profile.

Well GZE has playable music when you visit a members profile ^_^
So i think with certain mods it will be possible

FFE has something like this as well. You should check out the profiles there, the amount of options to fill is larger then any other forum I have ever seen.

It would be nice to personalize profiles more but if it slowed the forum down it would not be worth it. Forum performance over pointless features any day.

^ yeah i agree there

i am on another forum which lets you add music to your profile and there is no slow down time on it and i think it is a good idea

I believe that all depends on coding, hacks and whatnot :P So I have no idea how to go about it ;-; Buttttttttt~ I know someone who does :monster:

I think it'd be fun to have a more customizable profile, I'll bring it up if it hasn't already been talked about :)

Well the forums are vBulletin which lets you edit it to anything you want....it is up to the admins to either code a mod for it or find some sort of hack for it.

Angel try looking on http://vbmodder.com/forums/ theres a good list of mods and tutorials on there :)

I like the idea, makes our profile more personal blah blah blah.
Logically, it shouldn't affect the server, because no queries of a database (should) have to be performed, but it could be very hard to code and set-up. I'm just shooting in the dark here though...

Hrmm...I would like this Hack if it is possible. Our own music on our profile and maybe a little more customization. That'd be nice. =D.

hmm, i wonder how it would be done though?

would you need the url or the actual window of the song or if it need to be loaded from a file or from windows media player

does anyone know how that would work?

Mist likely, you'd load the song(s) into a field on your profile page from your hard drive.
That isn't something I'd go for though. I like to listen to music a lot on my laptop, and I don't want some other song from a profile interfering with that. A compromise could be some sort of field that displays the members Last.FM thingy, should they have one.

or if you could get it loaded from a CD or something, or the embed from youtube or somewhere

From a CD wouldn't work, because you can take a CD out, which would mean that the song wouldn't be able to play. And by the YouTube suggestion, I'm assuming you mean displaying videos in profiles too? What I'm generally going against, is sound in profiles in general, because as I said, I listen to a lot of music while I'm online and any sound would interfere and just muck it all up. I'm sure a lot of other people are the same.

well, you could include a box in the profile and a play/pause button so it would not interfere

On the forum I go to with that feature the Youtube video is Paused when you open the profile.

You only have to watch if you really want too.
