there are swarms of ants crawling around my pet's cat food every morning, it's really ticking me off

should I put poison in the cat food to drive them off, yes or no

I was sleeping on the couch this morning and my cat jumped on my stomach and started marching in place on me. then he started nipping on my arm. he really wanted me up so I checked his food and there was a good 100+ ants swarming over it

after sweeping up all the little bastards I laid down a bunch of ant spikes (powerful traps) around the food, hopefully the cat won't get in them

if it's worse tomorrow I'll take pics
