I've noticed that in some RPG games the characters could acquire alternate outfits.

In FF, I've yet so see anything of the sort. So, the question is...would you like to see alternate garments for the future characters of Final Fantasy? Do you think some of the old characters from the past games need an update, what would you think that'd look like? (Excluding X-2).

I mean, they go forever without any change of clothes on their long journey's and whatnot. Don't you think they'd change at some point? Lawl.

Explain and Discuss.

You'd expect so, I mean they must stink by the end of the game. It should be like the Sims where you can get new clothes and stuff :wacky:

On a more....serious note *ahem* I think the characters could change clothes depending on their surroundings. Like Tifa must have nipples like football studs when running about in the Great Glacier in that skimpy outfit....

I would love to be able to change the characters outfits. :D

I agree Frisky, I would like to change the characters clothes based on the surroundings. Maybe have a default outfit, but if you want to go into an area with a different environment, you'd have to give them weather appropriate clothes.

YES! I love it when RPGs do this, like Legend of Legaia. Its great cause its like a personal custamisation (sp) of the character. Some show the changed weapons, but different outfits woiuld be amazing.

Dragon Quest had alternate outfits for Jessica depending on what armour/accessories she equipped. She could be a dancer or a bunny gir, can't remember the others but I just liked the variety.
FF should so introduce it (Do it in a FFVII remake Square, do eeeeet)

I'm assuming we're not counting Final Fantasy III (DS) since technically, they do change their outfits when changing jobs. ;) It's something.

Anyway, yes, I would love to see alternate garments for Final Fantasy characters. It makes it much more fun and in a way, there would be a touch of realism if the feature is implemented in future games. Changing their clothes is something that players would definitely enjoy as fashion comes to play.

Yes, I've noticed this within the FF games. I am pretty sure the whole party (excluding Auron) was cold when going towards the Macalania Temple. Lmao. The wind was quite Fierce.

I've seen things like Alternate costumes within Rogue Galaxy and Dragon Quest.

Or maybe have the representing Armour change when you put it on? Have each armour look different than the next like in Dark Alliance and the like...

I always just assume that characters do stuff like bathing, going to the bathroom, brushing their teeth and laundry while offscreen. If they don't, then they're masters of endurance. When I have to crap/pee really bad, holding it back for long amounts of time is murder.

But yeah, I wouldn't mind seeing some alternative outfits for Final Fantasy characters. Some of 'em desperately need new duds.

I got Jessica in the dancer outfit and need one more accessory for the bunny outfit. And Ive got a jungle outfit for Jester in Rogue Galaxy.

The dresspheres in X2 and jobs in 3 made them more special IMO.

I got the Jurikain, Desert Claw, and Pirate outfit for Jaster.

I never did get that bunny suit for Jessica, but I did acquire the Bathing Suit.

The only alternate i've seen is Garnet's hairstyle and Basch, but yeah they really should do stuff like this.

Well, do those really count? I mean, there is no way to actually get back those costumes in the future. =/.

Basch looked pale, skinny, scruffled, and sick. Haha. (Which is understandable since he was locked in that prison).

As for Garnet, she kept the same outfit on, just cut her hair. >_<;; Which I liked the long hair better, IMO.

Yeah i have to agree with you, especially on the garnet hair part, when her hair was back in the ending i was relieved.

I much preferred her hair long, but being able to change the hairstyles aswel as outfits also sounds like it would be great fun. Although I expect Id get distracted and forget about actually getting on with the story. Gives it a much more personal feel I think

Having at least one alternate costume would be nice for a character.

I remember playing FFX and thinking..."Isn't Tidus tired of showing off his knees all the time?" lawl.

Yeah, I did find it pretty nifty in P3 when the characters switched outfits according to the seasons. Granted, they only had one school uniform and one regular outfit for the season, but it was still something. And of course they had a couple extra outfits for special events like the beach and stuff.

You know, it would also be nice when you equip armor, to you know... see it on the character.

YESS! Lol. I so agree with that.

Only armour I seen change was the Shields in FFXII and the armlets in FFX (Even some of those looked the same). It would be nice to see some different outfits.

On Radiata Stories all the outfits change for the epuipment you equip. Same on Tales of the World. But the thing about that is that only the main character can change and all others can't. Hopefully that can change in the future.

We forgot about the change of outfit in VIII. :wacky: I remember reading about it in a review and it was like ''you get to change your outfit depending on what your doing!!!111!! ZOMG" or something along those lines <_<

So I was like oooh, clothes, and all you got was like one seed outfit near the beginning and thats it. Way to get over excited....Stupid magazine....
