From those characters, like Cid, that appear in a lot of FF, wich is your favourite?
Mine is Cid, because it's a guy that works like this in a future FF:
"Yoh, Cid, well you know i need and Airship, man" (then your slot would have all the files of FF where Cid appear) and Cid would answer: "Well, You helped me in FFII, FFIII, in IV we were friends, in V you helped me again, in VII we were friends again (...), so yeah you can have an airship!"
 
I think I'd still have to go with Cid, the only other ones I can think of right now are Biggs and Wedge. :P

I mean, yeah, he helps you out a lot, is a lovable character, and is also a cool character. I don't know whether to say I would want him in future FF's as a playable character or not, either way, he's a cool character.
 
I always found the Biggs and Wedge characters as good comic relief in FF. Although I don't think I remember seeing them in IX.

Either way, my vote would definitely be Biggs and Wedge.
 
id go with biggs and wedge they were great clowns, Absolutely hilarious in FFVIII. the Cid's were great also especially in VII IV and X
 
Cid wasn't that great in every FF...I only liked him in VII and (sort of) in IX. His apperance in FFVI wasn't of much significance. His appearance in FFVIII was highly frustrating after having such a great Cid character in the preceding game. His appearance in X was miniscule and his appearance in FFXII wasn't impressive...

My favorite reoccuring character would probably be chocobos. Chocobos usually have some of the best sidequests, and lead to lots of goodies and great treasure. =]
 
The cids have been the best reurcuring character, each time they're different adding a freshness to the series. there always unique and always memorable. and they always play major parts in the plot.

Gilgamesh. Very obscure choice, because no one played FFV. But as you can tell, I'm a Gilgamesh fanboy and proud of it! Also, Clash on the Big Bridge is one of my Top 10 Final Fantasy songs.
 
I'd say Cid, because in many of the ff series he's played a fatherly role for some sort of character. a man of wisdom and compasion. but of course there are those exceptions, like in vii
