Squall vs Squall

So I know some people have the game already, but here's just a glimpse of some more battle footage. Also, shows you can beat up character with... themselves!? Lol.

On alt costumes. We see that Terra's alt is green-haired design (as some have speculated) and Squall's is his SEED uniform (a little more obvious than it should have been).

So so far, the confirmed alt costumes I know of are: Cloud AC, Sephiroth shirtless/one wing, Green haired Terra, SEED Squall and black mage Shanttoto. The Dissidia LJ Community has translations for all the character profiles (contains info on Ex-Modes, Storymode and Alt/ Costumes) but I can't seem to find them. I'll keep looking.

edit: codes much too troubling :(

Thanks for that :D. Great videos.

I like the music choices they have made... The FF6 Boss Theme for the Terra fight and The Extreme for the Squall fight. Not bad choices :D.

Also it seems that the Magus Sisters and Bahamut are in the game. :D But it also seems that it is the FFX versions of those summons that made the cut.

Green haired Terra where did they come up with that. I hope you can choose between them and not fight duplicate people. Also the game is coming tommorow right? I should be getting it tommorow.

I think it's technically out now, in Japan at least in their time zones...

But Terra's sprite in FF6 had green hair, and a lot of people grew fond of it, thats why it is her alternate costume.

I'm sure you can choose your alternate costume before fighting, and I think you may even have to unlock some.

I'm sure Zidane's will be his trance form...
All that leaves is Tidus(No Idea here really, except maybe Shuyin?) and all the 2D characters.

The Warrior of Light is going to be a weird one.

Nope, Zidane's Alt costume is just a different color scheme, here's a pic:

Cecil's is his Amano art colors-

Bartz has his Amano art colors as well:

Garland seems to have his Dawn of Souls art color scheme:

Warrior of Light has his red costume:

Colour changes aren't that exciting, but I can live with it.
I forgot to mention that Onion Knight's alt. costume is Luneth.

There wouldn't be any pictures up featuring the villains alternate costumes would there? I'm curious what they'd do with someone like Jecht, Ultimecia and Kefka.

Thanks for the posts guys :D.
Seeing Bartz in all his zebra-patterned Amano glory is fantastic, although I do like his redesign as well (fits his sprite).

Nice to see Warrior of Light in red... Is that meant to emulate the Fighter class? I think thats rather good, although I'd have prefered it to be more than just a colour change, and to lose the horns and give him red spikey hair. But you can't have everything :D.

I was wondering if Cecil was ever to have his purple hair and gold'ish armour as an alternate costume, like in his sprite. Perhaps that may be an unlockable? Afterall they did say that some characters would ahve up to 4 costumes.

On Zidane... There wasn't much more they could do with him. He was never seen in any other costume in the game, so colour changes were all we could expect for him really.

Kefka... Now Kefka I am interested in seeing. I hope they give us the cgi Kefka from the Playstation version. The one that Youtube Kefka dresses up as, lol.

I love the Youtube Kefka! That outfit would be a pretty obvious choice.

Zidane's outfit is actually his Amano colour scheme, I believe. I don't know what else you can do with him... unless you put him in the Tropical Weapon set you get as gag weapons in a certain FF9 sidequest.

I haven't beaten FF3 DS yet, but from what I heard, Cloud of Darkness looks very different in it - that could very well be an alternate costume aswell.

As for the 4 different costumes - my gosh, I hope so! Especially for the characters who just have colour swaps.

I haven't seen Kefka's alt yet, but its most likely going to be the Anthology CGI version or the green color scheme of his sprite.

UPDATE:

So this video:

Shows all of the characters normal outfits, EX modes, alternate costumes and alt costume EX modes, and their crystal clone versions, and it reveals to us that Kefka's alt form is just some random color scheme change, not based on anything I've seen before.

Exactly as I tought, Cloud in AC costume starts with First Tsurugi Dis-assembled and in Ex-Mode becomes whole. Also Tidus in Ex-Mode gains Auto-Haste.

Gabranth; Ex-Mode / Ex-Burst:

It seems he does all the Quickenings
his brother Basch
does, except with much more cool effects.

By hearing the "Villains winning theme" he might be the opposite to Shantotto.

I must say I'm rather dissapointed at the Kefka costume. It looks fine, but I wish they'd spent as long as they did on Cloud's, Squall's and Sephiroth's alt to come up with something a little better with some of the other characters.

No matter, they'd said once that for some characters there were up to 4 costumes, and that you have to pay for them with points earned in the game. I assume that what we see there are starting costumes so that you can fight two of the same people together.

Then again... Even if the 4 costume thing was a lie, I'm happy with what we have here.

Unfortunately this isn't the case. This video shows every costume available for them, there aren't any more than what's shown. The only outfits the characters have are their normal outfits, their EX mode look, their crystal clones that are fought in story mode, and they each have one unlockable different look, which is shown here.

There aren't different color shades for when two of the same character fight, if both players chose the same character in the same costume, they look exactly alike.

That is a slight dissapointment. But nothing to upset me too much. Just put my fanboy mind to rest if anything... Unless I start dreaming about possible Playstation Store downloads :O.

Are the crystal forms of the characters a playable costume as well as being enemies in the story mode?

I can't say I'm too disappointed with the costume looks. Even though most of them are colour changes, they look nice. I just don't get what's up with making some characters completely blue/purple/red o_O

I'm glad they got Kefka's final boss form, unfortunately they couldn't really do the same for Sephiroth. I'm definitely happy with what's available

Wow this game is so freakin amazing Terra owns I just love her in dissidia!!! Oh yeah I got used to her 2nd costume with green hair lol. Yeah and anyways the villians are all secret characters so there will be no other characters joining in. Well they can always make a sequel.

These monochromatic versions of the characters are crystal clones," not an alternate costume. In Dissidia's story mode each character only has 2 or 3 fights with actual villains or heroes, the vast majority of the time you are battling against these clones of the character.

From what I've seen so far they aren't playable, just CPU opponents.
