That video proves me again that Tidus is kind of dumb.
Back on topic, I say it would be good to have affection points determine the storyline, but it depends on the game. For example, like Vegeta stated before, having Tidus hug Rikku instead of Yuna would feel a bit ackward, same for Cloud and Aerith (not mentioning that it would also piss a lot ot Aerith X Cloud fans)
Wow, I never had Rikku with me on that transportation vehicle in the Macalania scene. All five times, I had Lulu...
Anyway, I kind of like how there are little side-stories between the characters, but it doesn't develop into anything more than that. It's good to have interaction between all of the main characters like that, but I wouldn't like it if you could alter the storyline that way, because it might not have as powerful a finish as the ones the game developers already created.
Like if the love ended up between Rikku and Yuna, I definitely don't think FFX would have been nearly as good. But with Tidus coming from
a 'Dream
Zanarkand' and Yuna trying to stay true to Yevon and all that, their two backgrounds came together quite well.
It's an interesting idea, though. Reminds me of one of those second-person Goosebumps books.
