I never knew how to affect my SeEd rating, how can you hurt your SeEd Rating and how can you help it? I always got about the same rating every time i was around that area. Anyone know?

I know the SeeD rank rises when you win a lot of battles without running...
You increase your SeeD ranking by:
Not talking to anyone during the mission; by going around the hill instead of jumping like Selphie tells you too; by always agreeing with Seifer and following his orders.
If you do the opposite your SeeD rank decreases...also if you hide inside the pub and miss the escape sequence your SeeD rank will decrease.

If you try to destroy the robot spider and get AP points you lose rank points but if you run when it says you don't lose points.
Well if you´re talking about after the SeeD exam then running away from battles decreases your rank.
Also following certain options decreases it too i believe!
Right, I remember if you run into the resturaunt when your running from the Spider Robot Boss, you loss points..

I might be wrong but when doing the fire cavern challenge, picking a smaller amount of time should also help to increase your SeeD rank.

There are quite a few. Youre best checking the internet or buying the guide. One that springs to mind is chatting to anyone on your first SeeD mission, that can lose you points.
How 'bout taking those SeeD tests at the bottom of the menu.

yeah but that's after you got your SeeD title, normally that works so easy mine doesnt go down I always take the tests at start of the game giving me lotsa early money .

To increase it, Take the SeeD tests, don't run from battles, and take full advantage of the draw system and all your techniques, and don't fail at the minigames that you have to play to progress further into the story.
To hurt it, run like a pansie, get your arse kicked a lot, and mess around often and suck at the minigames that you have to play to progress further into the story.
I own at this game so much, that I got SeeD rank level 7 for the SeeD field test in Dollet.

I always take the SeeD text ASAP when it becomes avalablie if my level drops lol.
