FireDeath

This is the name of an attack of Emerald Weapon...
It's said that this attack deals damage related to Materia equiped...Me and a friend try to check this out... For every Materia equiped it will rase the damage in 1130 or somewhat in HP...
But my point is this one...
One time I fought Emerald Weapon and when it used this attackmy party didn't dye(every character had 14 Materias equiped)
How is this possible?
P.S.: We started to think that the underwater Materia has something to do with that, but I only fought Emerald Weapon once in my entire life, and without the Underwater Materia and level. 60.

I actually remember reading about a trick where you can cast regen and open your playstation's lid and let it heal you without being attacked, and it actually works. lol.
But sometimes the disc doesn't start back up when you close the lid. lol.
It came in handy when I fought emerald weapon, but it's risky.

Its one of the more well known cheat/glitches of FF VII, Suprised you haven't tried it already. I myself have tried it but never really use it. Not because of the risak factor but because I just can't be botherd :P

:P

It seems to me that even if such an obvious trick works, it's not worth using because it takes the fun out of the game

shield materia? do you mean protect/reflect/wall?
No he does mean Shield. You get it in the Northern Crater on Disc 3 in that natural looking path with the water and oddly hairy looking enviroment.

And to be a nit-picker, as always; it's Barrier/MBarrier/Reflect/Wall in thsi game ;)

Omg barrier is one of my all time favorite materias. ^_^

I know that trick is a cheap cheat, but I was so fascinated when I found out about it. LOL.

Getting back to the question at hand. Yes Aire Tam depends on how much materia you have equiped. 1100 I think per materia (but it could be 1130) Now IMO what happened to you could be the same thing that's happened to me a good number of times already. When the Weapon uses this attack it could just completly miss one or two your charecters. I've heard of that Underwater Materia effects this attack in some way, but I've never seen proof to back that rumor up, and I've fought Emerald A LOT of times already.

yeah big gaurd was pretty good but angel whicper was good as well :)

Thats late into the game tho, Big Guard is earlyish. Saved alot of turns setting up Barrier, M Barrier and Haste like alot of guides tell you to do for major Boss fights. I just stick on Big Guard on turn 1 and give it some welly, none of this Barrier shizzle.

yeah i though barrier was a waste of a turn. Whenevr the brady guide says cast barrier/m barrier/haste that means 9 turns in which by the time you cast them barrier may have ran out

Hey!!!
Let's get back to the business, shall we?
It's about Emerald Weapon, not Magics...

just out of curiosity, where is big guard, I have only ever found it once by chance

want an easy way to beat it... get lucky sevens on cloud now to do this go to a place like outside chocobo ranch to get a low lvl enemy now cast stop on all enemys. now attack cloud with one of your characters then cast mini(att = -1hp on cloud) on the remaining two characters then attack cloud to get his hp something like this 2577 or 3677 really or in general XY77. then use potions and hi potions to get his hp to 7777 then go battle emerald and he hits him 63 times i think each for 7777 in a row. then simply cast w-summon knights of the round and mime it and bingo dead and master materia is now urs
