Serious Advice

I had to carry a coffin a few months ago, so I can say what that was like. The coffin is really light, so much lighter than you expect. Even carrying it with 5 other people, I expected it to weigh me down somewhat. Then I realised that someone I had known and loved my entire life was lying dead a few inches from my head and I nearly got sick. After that I stared straight ahead and thought about something stupid, I can't remember what though. I know this sounds horrible and terrible and not comforting at all. I am just hoping it will prepare you for what it'll be like, even the tiniest bit.

I remember the undertaker being very efficient and practised in getting the coffin on to your shoulders and getting you moving. At first I hated how clinical and disconnected he seemed, but then realised it was probably for the best. I don't think that will help, but I don't know it seemed important at the time.
