'Kay, I was browsing PSN the other day and noticed this "Ad-Hoc Party" for download, but I have no clue how I'm suppose to use it.

Like, would I need this to play with other people online in general, or only for specific games?

I remember the term being tossed around a lot for Dissidia, so would this Ad-Hoc party allow me to potentially play with someone else in the world?

Shed some light, please? >.<

I've done it once myself and I was a bit confused, still am but i'll try to explain what I did.
I had my PS3 hooked up to my net wired (it won't work otherwise) and the PSP registered to the PS3, on the PSP's network connection list I set it to PLAYSTATION (R) 3.
After that I loaded it up along with the game, now this is the part that confused me... so I found a search button at the bottom of the ad hoc menu which lets it scan what game your PSP is playing to see if there's any matches, which worked just fine for me.
Although I did have problems with full lobbies and such, I got in in the end.

I just need to ask something here.. Is Ad-hoc party out everywhere on the psn store now? I originally thought it was only for Japan. I really do not know how it works though. :hmmm:

I think it was on just the Japanese PSN for ages, but it's on the EU version now since I have it, and any bets that means it'll be on the NA one too since they generally get things ahead/about the same time as us.
So yeah, I think it's out on all PSN versions now. :hmmm:

Basically, I think it's an extension on the PSP's internet capabilities using the PS3 as a bridge. meaning online play rather than just those sat next to you.

Allows PSP games that usually only have Ad-Hoc online play (like Dissidia or Monster Hunter) to be played online with others that have AHP.

So is this restricted by who else has a particular region Ad-Hoc? Like, I would get it from the North American PSN, so could I only play with other NA accounts, or is it who else just has the program?

You'd be able to play with ANYONE who has Ad-Hoc. I've used it for Dissidia before, but you just need to go into the right room. You'll understand what I mean when you start properly using it.
