UNTOLD MILLENIA AGO......
Crux, the goddess of the stars in the night sky, was at war with the Demon Wolf, Fenrir. In the ensuing battle, Crux used a mystical living weapon known as Gleipnir, to defeat Fenrir and bind him to the Strangeral, leaving him trapped for eternity. But in doing so Crux sent herself into the stars forming the cross that people in the southern sky would see. The World once again saw peace.
THE PRESENT DAY....
For many years the nations of the Southern Osean Continent has enjoyed relative peace. However things were not always as it should be.
In 719 SC (Strangereal Century) the proud Republic of Leasath, a nation proud for it's people and culture, fell into strife, and civil war. One of the warriors in that conflict, a Leasathian general named Diego, stumbled over the resting place of Gleipnir. Using Gleipnir, Diego defeated the warring factions and took control of the nation. One year later, he set his sights on the neighboring Aurelian Confederation. In 10 days, over 95% of the nation was under Leasathian control. The occuppied Aurelian government and military command, retreating to Cape Aubrey in the Kingdom of North Puna, decides to organize a task force consisting of the remnants of the battered Aurelian Army and Airship fleets.
The task force, known as the Gryphus, would be ordained with the vulture that is the symbol of Aurelia, as well as the Constellation Crux, the symbol of the Goddess that defeated Fenrir millenia ago.
Basically you serve either as part of the Aurelian Task Force "Gryphus" or as a warrior for Leasath in this Final Fantasy styled version of Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception. It is styled to be similar to that of Final Fantasy's 4, 8, and 12.
