The only place "joking" should be allowed in would be spam. Discussion in places like the Deep Sea Research center for more serious discussion wouldn't normally allow joking since it has a more debate like atmosphere, and any other discussion on Final Fantasy and those sections aren't really much of a joke either. Besides, if we allow them to joke, then other people may think they can get away with flaming by using the excuse that "it's a joke". Since this forum is relatively new, I want to make sure that it doesn't get to that level. I've seen horrible things happen to forums that let things like this get away.
 
I'm with Angelus here. I'd like to point out that most of their flaming was not swearing, I didn't actually seem to notice much swearing. What I did notice was the constant insults that both of them would fire at other members. I'm aware that, before I became staff myself, the other staff were warning them, and they continued. It's fine saying "it's a joke". but if the content of those jokes are against the rules, then they deserve to be warned, then subsequently banned, if the offense continues.
 
Blob, I don't even know you well enough, neither you do, and you are actually new to the forums and have just joined to be on their side? I just don't get it. I don't get it why you would have to be so defensive on them when you don't even know their story on this forum, what they have done to us, the site and to the members, made inappropriate posts and several threads, completely spammed up the board with pornographic images and such. Do you seriously recall this is a 'joke'? If so, then you really need to learn how jokes can be made judging by their perfect timing. And how the hell can we can be so assure whether you're speaking with reality or maybe you've created some made-up lies just to get those two banned members back on the forum? Everyone likes to joke around but not too often. Of course it can be done in the spam forum but not in every single forum or section in here. The board guidelines says pretty much and are declared regarding the spam, curse, and all, so let me quote you here.

And we could lift up their bans if the members in here would like to have them back but it seems that they don't and they will never so there is nothing much we can do about it.

EDIT: Outside of the spam forum! Silly me! Just to be sure, is there a specific list of words I'm allowed to use, or am I pretty much free to say anything, so long as it isn't a *shiver* joke?

You're allowed to joke, but in the relevant area.

No, there is no certain words you have to keep away from, but I would personally recommend refraining entirely from swearing, so there can be no debate as to ambiguity.
 
So if I make a joke in a forum that isn't a joking forum, is that a bannable offense?
 
You can be warned, and banned if the problem persists. But you weren't banned for "joking", you were banned for posting pornographic images in every thread on FFF.

Did you actually read his post, or what? He said he knows them from another forum(s).
 
I have known Abel since the very start of his life, we were born in the same hospital at the same time, next to each. Different parents tho, I am a negro and he isnt, no relation between us. From that very day we decided that we should stay friends forever, we even cut each others umbilical cords as a sign of trust and friendship when we were born.

Out of the 32 years I have known him, he has never acted like this, hell he is even scared of naked people apart from me, my mum, and his mum (he grew that bond with us on the day we were born as we were all naked at the time) Hell he was bullied for a good 10 years for being a virgin untill my mym finally decided to help him out.

THis is not like Abel, and I know this more than any of you as he is also my BFF. Im not to sure about the Sar fellow, as he was born in the same place too but 12 minutes after. Bit of a delay but I still reckon he is trustworthy. These people have had a lot of troubles in their life and I think its unfair for you to ban them. Please reconsider it

I am aware of the "story". As far as I am concerned, you're taking this whole issue too seriously. Also as I mentioned, I know them well from other forums. Do not make the mistake of believing that this is the only forum on the whole wide internet that these people have registered at. Also, I joined this forum to have some fun, but when I noticed that you seemed to be threatening to ban people I know for no rational reason.

Ok, so a member makes one post in 2 days, and this one post does nothing but defend Abel in a manner that appears to be very un-realistic. Again, give me a good reason not to suspect this is extracting the urine.

It's not fate, but it is one of two things:

  1. The same people creating a new account on different computers, or
  2. Friends of Sar and Abel creating accounts solely to cause problems
 
is there anyway of stopping their ip adressess?
so they cant make new accouts on the same computer?

SARS is Sar, Sehku is Abel, the last one is probably another one of them, sicne their behavior leads me to belive they have no real friends.
 
Interesting speculation, but wrong all the same. The type of forum you post at (Final Fantasy) leads me to believe you have no real life friends, actually, whereas LastOCP is pretty much full of drunken, church-burning party cats with a penchant for humor and a deathwish to the anti-social.

IP addresses won't prove anything, 1. because proxies ae abundant, and 2. because we're not actually the same people. Yes, we talk about your forum on our message board; yes we've got multiple members signing up here to defend what is just and right! You can't strike down the righteous, for their will lives on far past the weeds that grow green from the graves of its roses.
