d'aw! the campfire scene is my favorite too! I always loved how Aerith is the only person he says that sort of thing to. Even now, she's still the only one Cloud says he's there for. and that is just preciously romantic!! :cali:

I also agree that the campfire scene says a LOT about who Cloud loves. He's never ever told any other person that HE'S there for them--only Aerith.

Haven't posted here in awhile... (Holy crap a month+ really? Damn?!) anyway thanks for the wall of fanart Cali, I looked through some and they are positively gorgeous, really sucks I couldn't do anything for Clerith on Halloween or Clerith day

Maybe next time anyway, there were lot of beautiful arts made though! Glad to be posting here again maybe we can get to 100 pages :3

Halloween night, what scary movies would they watch together?
Aerith (and Cloud too) would not be up for watching some gorey horror movie. (Like Saw) I could see them on the couch together watching a spooky movie though :inlove:

Possibly Poltergeist, or Paranormal Activity.. for some reason I can't think of any other spooky ones :rage:

Aerith would be a bit scared, and then Cloud would act all tough but at one point he would jump a little at one of the scary parts. Then Aerith would laugh and it's be adorable ^_^

There would be a big Halloween party with the whole gang, with little trick or treaters coming to the door. Aerith would pass out candy since she's a little sweet heart, but then she wouild take a break and Cloud would show his soft side :inlove:

Couldn't you picture Cloud going "Ohhh and what are you? A ghost? I'm so scared!" And of course after the party they'd have some fun... :britt:

Ugh, I need to vent. :toni:

I keep getting these "cloti is canon" posts on tumblr so allow me to vent my frustration.

Everything in the compilation tells us that Cloud and Tifa did not canonly admit to any love that night. IF they had, Tifa wouldn’t be asking less then a year later whether or not Cloud loves her, let alone would she be so afraid of his answer that she would change her question just in time for Cloud to not answer her. IF they had “sex” or whatever they're saying, WHY would Cloud tell Tifa (to her face) that he wants to meet/find and be with another woman(Aerith) in HIS land of supreme happiness at the end of FFVII? IF they had admitted their “love” then why is Cloud’s promised land Aerith’s church?

They expect me to believe that Cloud and Tifa had sex and “admitted their love” in canon story… but how can I when we see Cloud turn around and act distant to Tifa, never calls Tifa, keeps secrets from Tifa, forces himself to talk to Tifa, moves away from Tifa and into Aerith’s church, and then in his time of dying Cloud chose to be in a place(the church) where he can hear the whispers of Aerith still faintly talking to him. Not to mention, it gets REALLY hard to accept that the HAHW scene is canon when Aerith is the only person stated to be engraved in Cloud’s heart, who he has an undying “feeling” for, and who he was recently stated to be the “koibito/lover” of.

All of that does not give the impression that Cloud and Tifa canonly admitted to any love during the Highwind scene. If anything, the canon compilation shows that the canon version of the HW scene is the low affection version since the rest of the compilation shows that Cloud and Tifa are not even remotely close to acting like they had been previously romantically together or that they are presently in a relationship.

Basically, the high affection highwind scene could be romantic (I’m not saying that romance definitely happens either, though cuz IMO it doesn't) SINCE it’s an optional scene with no canon outcome then all of this is irrelevant. It doesn’t matter what happens in an optional scene because what happens during said scene isn’t canon, therefore pointless to discuss this.

ughhh, i'm so so done with this fandom sometimes. :hmph:

People believe that Cloti is canon ? When did that happen ? Did Square say something ? I thought that Square has sort of left it up to debate on both sides. Odd.

yes, some people think the optional highwind scene canonizes cloti. why? because that optional scene is on a page with all of the ff couples titled "for the one I love" but they ignore the fact that the CANON clerith date is on that very same page too. :hmph:

and no, square hasn't said anything. all they've said is the same thing they've always said... that who cloud loves is up to us.

I LOVE them! Did you know in Dismantled Barret says to himself he should ask Tifa for another foot massage after climbing all of those stairs in the shinra headquarters? that's just so cute he's so comfortable with her. :ari:

I couldn't agree more! To me, all of those things (with some more ofc) show me that Clerith is canon. and i'll forever stand by that claim. :mokken:

I completely agree! Clotis usually claim that they had "sex" and whatnot... but in actuality, what they confirm in the HAHW scene is that they're alone and that the day might never happen again. That, I guess, could be seen as romantic (i think it's more friendly if anything) but it's definitely not sex that happened that night. even so, like you said. it's optional and it's definitely not canon... which means whatever happens in it (whether romantic or not) doesn't matter.

No offense to some of the Clotis, but the mere idea of Cloud and Tifa "gettin freaky" on some pointy rocks is rather unappealing and unromantic to me personally. I don't even know why that just because there was a black out in the scene that it automatically means that they both had sex. Geez... I mean even if they did have sex, you don't see Cloud trying to get Tifa in his bed in CoT or AC/ACC now do you! I'm sorry for the rant... I guess I had my own share of frustration to spare over the situation.

If you look at the picture of the Highwind Scene on the "For the One I Love" page, there is a page number at the top of the picture to be used as reference. You can see that page number with a red box around it in the close up here:

The paragraph on page 232 of the 20th Anniversary Ultimania clearly says that there are TWO VERSIONS of the Highwind scene, and that the conversation between Cloud and Tifa will change depending to the degree of Tifa's affection with Cloud. In other words, there is more than one way for Cloud and Tifa to feel about one another during the Highwind scene.

That same paragraph on page 232 then goes on to say that Cloud and Tifa will have strong feelings for each other only IF the degree of affection is high. In other words, there is more than one way for Cloud and Tifa to feel for one another during the Highwind scene.

Cloti is not canon bros and sisters. BTW got it from a Clerith essay on Google by a person named Anasta.

Yay this club is still alive! I still have a soft spot for these two and they are still my favorite FF7 couple.

Random thought, but I have seen a theme in literature (as well as a requirement at certain points in history) Than when a husband/boyfriend/male significant other dies, the woman is expected to send her heart to the grave with him and never love again. You never see this with male characters because they are supposed to go out and have teh sex with other females. So I say a little gender role reversal is in order! I think that is why I still love Cloud and Aerith.

Don't like Tifa because every aspect of her life revolves around Cloud to the point that its absolutely pathetic and frankly, very sexist on part of the writers.

I agree. :/ It's even more unromantic when you remember that the next morning (after the night they supposedly "had sex") Cloud tells Tifa that he wants to meet/be with/find Aerith in HIS promised land... kinda strange for him to say IF he just admitted to loving Tifa and whatnot the night before. And like you said, NEITHER of them act like they've previously had sex, they seem if not more disinterested in each other in CoT or AC then they did in VII (and I didn't think that was possible!)... so it's safe to say nothing sexual happened.

I just recently played FF7 on PSP and the rest of the compilation, I have played all the other FFs years prier at a young age and never checked out FF7 till it came out on PSP store on Playstation.com and It just was the first time I ever got into a romance and I just love them to bits! I DIED WHEN SHE DIED!!!! D:

I have some quotes for you guys! In the red box to the upper right of this page of the Ultimania Omega; it says Cloud was CRYING when he was being forced and controlled by Sephiroth to hurt Aerith. :gonk:
