Drogo dies, and they burn the witch or something, and Dany steps into the fire with the eggs and it hatches dragons and saves her? Is that correct?

Sorta yea. Drogo does die, and she decided to burn him with the eggs. The eggs hatch and she steps into the fire, completely unharmed because she is a Dragon.

So, anyone finish the TV series yet, or perhaps the books thus far? If so, what did you think about the show's season ending? Or about the last book? What do you think might happen? Who do you think will have a larger role in the future?

Seeing Khal die in such an undignified way was so sad I hated it! It was worse for me than when Ned died!! I am really pleased that the sexy blacksmith kid is in it again though *swoons* I kinda forgot his name... Gendry? something like that. Overall the end was satisfying except for Khals ultimate demise. I actually felt sorry for Sansa too who I usually hate!

Poor Drogo... At least we know they loved each other, him and Dany. But now she's got her own three dragons that will burn and bring peace according to her ideas, when she wants it.
As for Ned...the worse part about his death is poor little Arya. That poor baby. I just wanted to hug her when I read it and then when I watched it. So sad!
Its weird, I hate to love Sansa. Martin made all his characters so real, so fleshed out. The best part about Sansa is that she's believable and that she was gullible when it came to her crush. Her later reaction to Joffery's betrayal was realistic too. I use to find her extremely annoying, but for some strange reason I never hated her character. The only one one I despise in the entire series is Cersei. She's one crazy, betraying be-otch.

Shame too, but I guess it can't be avoided. I'm already hooked to the show though. I'm watching the 3rd episode as we speak.
