Final Fantasy XIV footage appears:

Someone has captured footage of Final Fantasy XIV at gamescom and threw it up on YouTube for us to embed.

As you can see from the video, there is a rather nasty looking creature hammering some poor, unsuspecting adventurers as they go about their daily business.
It looks pretty much like Final Fantasy should, with its turn based combat and screen filling special effects.

thnaks .... this really opens up what it will be like. a lill disapointed that its a change weapon change class... they should of sectioned it off so u can change jobs within the desiples ie ... u stay within war or land or magic or hand
 
I think that could come in handy though, on one side two-sworded and other side 2 handed sword now that would be nifty :D

Im so curious about this game and it makes me excited the more I hear about it, really that FF feeling again even though TURN BASED thats a bit of a let down...oh well still lookin forward to the ps3 version :D:D
 
all FF's are turn based but most have addopted the time turn base attacks which is allot better than 1 char 2nd char 3rd char then back to first. becuase u can addaped your fighting style to your char i.e. fast attacks but small damage or slow and big damage so on.

you adapt your char to what you like.


i just cant wait to play it and see if it is good or not.

do you know how controlls will work for PC? i REALLY dont want it to be like WOW i hate them controls ...
 
I dont know about the PC controls. I bet same like most MMoRPG's

shortkeys 1,2,3 etc,,
m=map
s=skills
and so on :P

Im waiting for the PS3 version though, my PC is too fossilly old..
 
Since I've been playing the beta a good chunk of today, here's the basic control layout-

WASD- movement
IJKL- camera control
Tab- select nearest target
Numerical keys- use abilities

That's really all you need for the most part, the mouse handles just about everything outside of combat.

Im curious how many are going to play on ps3? I would like to set up sum minor plans or something to make a clan/guild etc... would be nice to join together or something..

I will definitely play, I never played FFXI but this one I will give a try.

sweet!! thanks for the insite .... that was a main problem for me becuase i have a laptop i like keybased gaems instead of mouse. so that is awsome THANKIES!! =P.


im will be on PC but i would like to do the same. setting up linkshell/guild so on but i dont know what server to go on.

im pritty ssure it will have a pet system as ffxi gaine many players from putting job on there like beast master dragoon and puppetmaster


i cant wait till it comes tooo
 
oh wait I heard that ps3 servers are intertwined with pc servers meaning ps3 players can play in the same servers as pc gamers I SO HOPE thats true, cuz I have a online friend who is definitely playing on pc this year so he can inform me of the best class and the right server to play on :D

also the right type of player etc.. I played so many mmorpg's and after level 30 I found out my char was bad at PvP...I dont want to waste my time like that anymore

I want the supreme build ! ....lol while im writing this I remember the level up system is way different as typical mmorpg's....sigh xD
 
first month is for free :P so you might enjoy that, I dont believe it will be that expensive i hope 10-15 bucks per month, that seems more then affordable, besides you can always quit when you want to lolzz
 
The actually have information released that if you link your XI and XIV account you get some form of discount for having both active a month AND also receieve a inagem item called Herald Sandels, movement speed feet.
 
That would be great! that is what i hate about the other MMORs is that if you are on a differenct content you have different servers.

So either way we can all go onto the same server.

On FFXI it was easy to level up at any lv with some/most jobs due to certain areas / missions and games. look it up it was a clever way for people to solo but i still think it took way too long unless you was a soloing job like beastmaster puppetmaster or dragoon
