A Kingdom Darkly (League of Roleplayers RP)

OOC: Seeing as there has been a serious lack of activity, I may try to speed up the process of meeting up with the rest of the party by my third post.

After having gone back a decent ways into the forest, full of lush, big trees, darkened by the cloudy sky above, he recalled similar situations in his past to what he faces now, where he would cling to a tree, on the side facing away from the populated area, staying out of sight, then calling out to someone to draw one of them closer, then have a few words with the person to clarify his intentions, but that, well, simply put, he isn't human.

After some time had passed, he went back to the area at the outskirts of the city where he monitors some of what goes on there, while remaining unseen by the public eye. But this time, he observed the area intently, trying to see the person people refer to by the name of Mannus Ferrea, who is the person who seems to be recruiting others for a civil affair, it would appear this is the man he must seek out if he wants to be a part of this.

There was some hustle and bustle within the city, the city folk going from building to building, seeming hurried and uneasy, being in these dark times. After Crimson Wolf had been surveying the area from a distance for some time, he detected Mannus Ferrea, who was heading just outside of the city walls with someone else to the left side of him, likely to discuss a matter with him in private, either personal or in regards to the civil affair, possibly.

Once he got just outside of the city, along with the other person, he knew this was the chance he was waiting for, so after they came to a halt, he readied himself for the important conversation he was about get into. He called out to catch their attention, but not so loud that the people in the city would hear.

"Mannus Ferrea!" Crimson Wolf shouted, just loud enough for them to hear, judging the distance between himself and them. Mannus heard someone calling out his name, sounding as though it was from a little ways away, and the person beside him had heard also.

"Who's there?" Mannus Ferrea replied. Crimson Wolf just waited while Mannus proceeded to move closer to his location, the other person following closely behind, then Mannus said "Show yourself!"

Hearing this, he thought it wise to start speaking to him more before Mannus would grow more anxious and perhaps become a little more aggressive if he began to think he was being set up for an ambush.

"We need to exchange a few words before we meet face to face." he said. The others stopped to hear what he had to say. "I have been observing some of the activity of the city from a distance for quite some time, for the reason I am about to mention."

They certainly wondered why he would be monitoring the city from some distance away rather than being within it, which would make it much easier of a task. "You have my ear. Speak." Mannus said, listening to the words being spoken.

"My name is Crimson Wolf, and why I must remain unseen by the people in the city is because of my appearance, most people mistake me for a Werewolf, but in truth I am of a not very well known race called Ferfnir." Crimson Wolf said, continuing on to say "Mannus Ferrea, before I continue further, I would like if you could approach me yourself for us to discuss something in private, I have seen you recruiting people for assistance in a civil affair, I would like to offer my service to this, I tire of having to hide from the world, I wish to help it."

Mannus Ferrea was very surprised from all he had just heard, a voice surely is speaking aloud, yet it says it is often mistaken for a Werewolf, then it asked him to meet with him face to face, by himself, and that it wants to offer it's assistance to the civil affair. "Alright, I'm coming over." he replied, as he started heading towards where Crimson Wolf is at.

The person he was with still wasn't sure about it though. "Sir, with all due respect to your decision, I am not sure about this, what if it's a trap?" he asked Mannus.

"This Crimson Wolf's words sound sincere, and may be able to help, I don't believe this is a trap. I am going to meet with him face to face, alone as requested, and we will discuss how he may be of assistance, and what he price he would ask in return for his service, we need all the help we can get, and if he seems able, he will be recruited." Mannus Ferrea answered.

As he got close enough to where Crimson Wolf came into his sight, at that moment, even though he could tell from his words he was different, he was a bit set back by his appearance, he looked dark, and intimidating, even if he wasn't trying to be. "Whoa, okay, so you say you aren't a Werewolf, just what are you?" he asked.

"As I said earlier, I am of the Ferfnir race, though I have yet to meet anyone who has heard of it. It is a race of humanoid Wolves, with the strength of a Wolf, and the intelligence of a human. Well, considerably stronger than a normal Wolf, because as you can see, I am able to stand on two legs with ease." Crimson Wolf answered.

"So you're basically an intelligent, two legged Wolf with considerably more strength than a regular Wolf, that's it?" he responded, without seeming to even take a moment to think of what he was going to say, it just came out.

"Not entirely, there is also something else the Ferfnir are capable of, being human-like Wolves. Ferfnir have the shape shifting skill to change from the human shape like I am currently in, and the normal, quadruped Wolf shape. Would you care for me to demonstrate this for you?" he asked, "I am, of course, still capable of speech in either shape."

"Change your shape? Sounds interesting, I'd like to, after seeing you like this, see you in your Wolf shape, to see just how different it actually looks." Mannus Ferrea answered, curious about Crimson Wolf's words.

Before speaking another word, he shifted into his Wolf shape. "There. See? Looking just like any other Wolf." he said, "Well, except for this clothing that, now that I shifted to this smaller shape, doesn't fit so good, and probably the crimson fur on me seems odd to you, but it is merely unique patches of fur of a unique color, I was born with that fur like that, it is natural to me." He started to struggle his way out of the clothing that was now very loose and just in his way.

"Well aren't you special." Mannus said, with a slightly smug look on his face. "You're certainly a unique sort, never heard of anything that can do what you can do, so since you offered to help, I would be glad to accept. Your abilities would surely be useful, and no offence, but in that larger, human shape, you look pretty dark and intimidating, even if you didn't intend to be, we may be able to use that to strike fear into the enemies, if you would be willing to do this. And what would your price be for your services?" he asked.

"I don't need money. As you could imagine I don't have much use for it, I can't even grip things any good, to grab anything I am forced to use my mouth." he answered, "But about being used to as a terror weapon on the enemies, doesn't matter much to me how you make use of me, as long as I am being made useful, and doing good, helping out with this." Crimson Wolf replied.

"Well then, Crimson Wolf, consider yourself the newest recruit, you're in." Mannus Ferrea recruited him. "Now, as you said yourself, most people react like you're some Werewolf when they see you, at least in your human shape, which is what will be useful for deploying you as a 'terror weapon', as you put it, so you should follow me to where you can be kept hidden from the public eye, but ready for action."

OOC: Something short. Try to get it going

Savant's attention was drawn away from Viridiania and towards Luna, the electricity lady. Apon contact, the air felt with another static charge, rippling the water shield around the vehicle. She had not met such an interesting figure in a long while. The only other she had met was a mysterious being that wrapped itself in a deep blue robe from head to toe. All was covered except his face. Even then, it was not possible to see his face, They had a fun time together, playing with magic, him wood and her water. After he left for his own journey, life turned dull. The wagon rocked once more, jolting the girl from memory city.

Ho--humm.....I wonder when the next town is. We have been going like this for a fair while....

OOC: Time to continue this thing. Short post ahead.

IC: Maria looked out to the road, wondering how humans get far by walking or riding on horses and carriages. hours felt like days, but she cannot afford to complain, as it would be unprofessional. She looked back at her comrades, the young girl was back to daydreaming again, what Sevan told not to do.

Maria remained quiet and hoped to get to the destination with haste.
