NieR and Dragon Quest X producer Yosuke Saito is teasing a big Friday announcement. He seems to be pretty excited about the announcement, as he made two Tweets about it.

Saito's first Tweet on the matter came late yesterday as he wrote: "Oooooooooo, I can't wait for this. Friday." Then, about 12 hours later, he Tweeted: "There wasn't much of a reaction, so I'll try again. There will be a major notice on Friday? Probably."

Will this announcement have something to do with Dragon Quest? Or is it NieR related? Check back on Friday!

I feel like this is worth posting to. So I will. If this is another NieR game, you do not know how excited I was when I saw this last night on the news sources I regularly visit. NieR was absolutely fantastic. It had a really powerful story. Sometimes even tear inducing. This announcement has made me want to play it again. If this is a sequel... please for the love of god may it not be called Nier-2. I really want a sequel. They can make it even more bloody and I will not care.

For the love of god, NO. Cavia are gone, and I do NOT want Square Enix fucking up the one good game that has had their name on it in the last two years. A sequel or prequel to NieR would be very, VERY bad, because the original developers are gone. Much as I'd love to see more, if Cavia aren't doing it, it shouldn't be done. Square Enix have tainted everything they've touched recently, and if that were to happen to NieR, I'd be very upset.

This had better be something else. I don't think I could stand it if SE fucked with NieR...

That said, it might be more DLC if it is NieR related, and this I could live with. But then, why would he be getting so jizzed up over DLC? God, I don't want a prequel or sequel...leave it alone, PLEASE, leave it alone...

If it's Dragon Quest X related, I hope they're announcing that they're ditching the MMO style and making it a normal Dragon Quest game :hmph: Or at least removing the online only portion >_> But that's probably not something for him to get excited about :monster:

Well it turns out that it's a concert. :neomon:
The good news: the big news NieR producer Yosuke Saito was teasing yesterday was indeed NieR related.

The bad news: the news is not game related.

The more good news: the news is related to NieR's music. The game's soundtrack is highly regarded, so this is big news for fans.

Square Enix will be hosting SQ Party Level2 NieR NighT on October 28. This live concert will focus exclusively on NieR and will feature appearances by artists Go-qualia and world's end girlfriend.

Details on the venue, time and ticket price will be announced later at the event official site.

This will be the last time that I'll bother with these Square Enix Twitter tease rubbish and I can see why there wasn't much initial reaction now. :jtc:

That is most definetely not bad news. That is the best outcome possible when Square Enix are talking about NieR, given how incapable of making anything even remotely worthwhile that they are. A NieR-related game made by SE? That'd be like Toriyama directing a console sequel to Final Fantasy XII.

A concert is fantastic, because NieR has the greatest video game soundtrack EVER. Nothing even comes close to it. However...Japan only? It figures. Hopefully they'll either release a live album, or someone will go to the concert, record it in good quality, and then upload it...it's something to cautiously look forward to, at least.

/relieved

Well, that is extremely disappointing. :hmph: Why would this even be considered Major? The OST is extremely good, but my my I would have preferred a sequel to NieR or something. Too bad all hope is ruined now. Such a shite announcement SE. This is one of your shittiest yet!

Wow, I was expecting something good. Major announcement my fucking arse :jtc:

It is sort of a major announcement if you can actually go to it. But alas.
