Final Fantasy III PSP is now available through the North American PlayStation Store. The 3D remake of the original Final Fantasy III on the NES/Famicom released on the DS in November 2006, and has since been ported to iOS and Android mobile phones. The PSN version of Final Fantasy III is compatible with your PlayStation Vita as well.

Included in this version of the game are extra artwork galleries, the option to toggle between the original NES soundtrack and the arranged version, and the ability to preset commands for an auto-battle function.

Final Fantasy III will cost $19.99.

Actually, if you ask me this ended up to be a very worthy addition to the Final Fantasy lineup. PSVita support is slightly surprising, but very welcome I'm sure, and the bonuses are a nice touch. I don't think the underwhelming graphics are a problem at all for the new system; they're a great blend of the old 8-bit and 3D as they are. $19.99 seems a reasonable price for how good the game is, even though it is a little bit high. Wouldn't stop me if I didn't already have the iOS version, though!

I don't think this price is reasonable at all; the game is ancient. I believe it's cheaper on iOS platforms as well, and I don't see why the PSP version couldn't have a price to match that when it's the same game, just on a platform that doesn't suck total balls when you need to do anything other than tap the screen randomly. It could definitely be worse - it's not full price - but considering this game is a lazy port with the old music added in, they should definitely not be charging that much for it. I anticipate and expect a price drop around Christmas.
