Yes, this is a reposting of a previous message, but I wanted to make sure that everyone would read it.

Now, you all know that 2007 is coming to an end, and you all know that the current game has many flaws due to the previous server move. I've giving much thought to this, I spoke with Koloth and the necessity of a new game is evident, and with it you all know what comes along: a big LV reset, no exception.

Still we could give you the following option: we can keep the old game, but that would mean that someday we won't be able to keep adding areas forever. Just look at the World Map, its crowded with areas all over it. The current World Map we have doesn't have unlimited space to keep adding areas, and no new areas mean that players will get bored of playing....and that will make me feel really disappointed of myself. Because you all know that the players (and of course LeeD's and Ken's) words are our commands.

So if you could all give me a hand and post your suggestions (don't forget PMs) I would much appreciate it. So how about helping good o'l RPG Mods here? :P I am sure that together we can create a greater and better game.

Now, any opinions? Feel free to express your thoughts and proposals. There are tons of topics related, like weapons, armours, Quests, etc. Write 'till your hearts contents.
I'll add a poll soon.

Suggestions to be greatly considered:
By Jack Moore
Here's a list of what could be done to improve it:
Wider variety of spells
More Quests - ones that require you to find/hunt a creature.
Maybe add taverns or bars- these could act as a gathering hall with friends (of course you have to sell beer there)
Modifiers on ALL weapons and Armour
Lift the Stat locker
Arena (mentioned before)
Puzzles and Riddles
More books (Actual short stories and poems)
More items in shops
TT tournaments (ones that can actually be finished)
Wider selection of music?

Suggested ideas:
-Usage of FF areas like Balamb Garden
-Option of starting at a different point than Midgar, we can still use Midgar though...
-More Spells and Item options
-More Items like staffs and shields, crossbows, etc
-Areas that require single players
-Areas that require teams to be surpassed.
-Limit the usage of Inferno default pics (because they suck)
-Better map (done)
-Wars, treason, good and evil, vampires, characters from other games as part of the storyline.
-More challenges
-More quests

Hm. We do need something new. Why not change the RPG so it mimics a real FF game? Like 7, 8, 9 ,10 or 12. It doesn't have to be exact - you could add new areas and such. We also need to balance the magic/melee too, because end-game, magic is better. We definatly need more FF spells like Ultima, Meteor, Holy etc.
We could add quests that can be accessed at certain lvs to make it fair.
We also need to add something that won't keep us bored, even after completing all areas of the RPG. Maybe something like an arena where you can fight different monsters each week or so, and recieve different rewards.
More puzzles would be fun - like trying to solve a riddle to the name of an enchantment.

This sounds better, yeah I know we need to add Ultima and Holy, and Unholy and all that but I still can't figure out where would it be a good place to make them available (trying to evade the boss option....Remember Ultima XD)

Adamant once suggested to Mimic FF-2, the idea just died because of the server moves, inactivity, and other issues...

We could mimic an FF game, again it would be really limited. We can, though, add fragments of the TOP FF games, like FFVII, FFVIII (a MUST be game), etc.

Yeah, one thing though regarding the LVL reset. Do we keep our armour/weapons/items/skills/bank accounts/gil? Or are these reset as well?

Everything would be gone, still we could do something about that. Like giving players a compensation or something for their hard work and dedication to the RPG (like high LV players for example)

Ya I remember the nightmare Ultima. Maybe add a spell shop in castle ex-death or somewhere really high-end. Archaneon is a bit useless, it would be great there.

As for a new RPG, we could mimic one of the storylines EG: FF8.
We could mix characters and areas from all ff's into this one. Something like the one we have now but with a decent storyline, and new game elements added.

What about a small boost of gil to start with? easier to gain spells? possibly a class system? ie: warrior/bmage/dancer etc. so a warrior cannot learn spells yet has much higher attack power than a bmage? This could help balance out the spell-melee problem and also higher stat limits for specific classes?

To add to JM's list and I say in advance that this could be difficult and even impossible. But how about a 3D RPG Inferno? where you can move your character around and explore areas more.

I have some suggestions...

For example when the player defeats Evil JA (who at least to me took a lot of training and strategy to defeat) he/she should get at least 2 levels up, some money (250.000 or something in that order) and a rare item.
Also it would be nice for him to turn good again or feel sorry for what he did in the past instead of doing nothing, because before you fight him there is a long introduction and he speaks with the player about his past and such but after you beat him...well nothing really happens.

Also it would be fun like Jack said if we had missions and if we could have more ff characters interact in the game, for example Squall could be the leader of the Paladin Knights and you could fight him for training.

Seifer could be an enemy and so on...i think it could even draw more players to the game if it had more ff characters related.

It could also serve an ff educational purpose in the missions/quests if there were some that were related to a scenario or part of a certain ff game for example saving balamb from the missiles.

I have an idea. We could just remove everything from the game, except for Valencia, components, items and people's stats. Since stats are locked, most of the monsters could have variable stats. Except for the beginning areas.

Why can't the game be just about good verses evil? I was thinking about having good NPCs and evil monsters. Now some of the NPCs could turn bad and turn into monsters. Of course, we could use characters, monsters and evil characters from one game.

YEah, but I quite like the ff scenario idea, that way you can still do what your saying Koloth but still have a storyline effect. ;)

I think there should be more RPG mods because it's a lot of work for just two people!!!

I think the two players with the highest level so far besides Julius and Koloth should be made mods...so they can help develop the game.

Also you could just change the pictures of the current NPC put a picture of Squall, Zidane and so on instead...

And Midgar could have a picture of President Rufus instead of that weird guy and a picture of Reno, Rude and Elena instead of those guys singing:P

All fantasy RPG's are Good vs Evil in some way or another.
Still, mimicing a current FF sounds cool. If more people like this idea, you could do a poll on which one you base it on.

Make the triple triad card players have actual rare cards...of course only the best would have them.

Also there could be a card player in every town at least because there are very few lol, and a lot have Cid picture:P

In order for us to get the Tripple Triad back, we need an admin, with FTP access, to put the cards in their proper place. I talked to LeeD about it, a few weeks ago, and never got an answer.

Level isn't really an object jimmy, though it would be easier to fix areas there would be little point if the person made RPG mod didn't have a clue what they were doing. Someone skilled in coding and computing would be a better choice imo. ;)
