CBS Films announced today that Scott Derrickson (Sinister, The Exorcism of Emily Rose) will direct the screen adaptation of the iconic Square Enix video game Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Derrickson will also write the screenplay for the film with C. Robert Cargill (Sinister). Roy Lee and Adrian Askarieh are attached to produce the film with John P. Middleton serving as Executive Producer. Executive Vice President of Production Maria Faillace and Creative Executive Alex Ginno are overseeing the project for CBS Films.

"Deus Ex is a phenomenal cyberpunk game with soul and intelligence,” said Derrickson, who continued, “By combining amazing action and tension with big, philosophical ideas, Deus Ex is smart, ballsy, and will make one hell of a movie. Cargill and I can't wait to bring it to the big screen."

I think you'll all agree that Deus Ex in a phenomenal universe with a compelling story that's perfect for the big screen, but which actors would you like to see play the roles of your favourite characters?

Well a Deus Ex movie... should be interesting enough...

It would definitely be interesting. Like Total recall remake I quite liked tht movie. Augmentation is already fact in these days anyways.
Im just wondering will they do the exact screenplay/script of the game or totally new version.

Adam Jensen lookalike or? :hmmm:

I havent played Deus Ex since weeks (been busy with COD) and I still need to finish it. Its an amazing game. I arrived at Chinatown lookalike or something, you know the Escort club or something.

Immense city man so realistic.

About stealth I dont think Deus Ex could be compared to Splinter Cell cause Splinter Cell is way above Deus Ex when it comes to stealth unfortunately.

Now which actors? :hmmm:

I know I'm being a bit pessimistic, but I honestly can see this adaptation turning into an 'all flash no substance' 6.5/10 film. To make a worthy movie adaptation, the director would have to focus on being true to the game a lot, and since when do directors do that? I also feel this way by looking at his track record.
