Im sorry but damn, VS 13 looks like its going to blow 13 out of the water. Its darker, grittier and overall just seems a hell of alot more bad ass than 13. I think we may very well have the first FF spin off that 1 ups the original.

I have to agree, Versus looks better to me, although FFXIII has me wanting it more since the trailer release. I just like the darker theme which is a good road to go down imo, plus I think the battle system being based on Kingdom Hearts adds more variation. :awesome:

I actually haven't kept up on Versus information and stuff. I've only been looking for Final Fantasy 13 info. Don't get me wrong, I'm going to buy this game, and since I don't know much about this, and I plan on not learning much more, I'm sure I'll enjoy it more than if I did keep track of information releases.

Although, personally think Final Fantasy 13 will be better. But, that's just my opinion.

I personally think that FFXIII will be better than FFVXIII. FFVXIII may have amazing graphics, a lot of actions, blood (for those who like it, I personally have nothing to do with it), but this is as far as it goes at the moment. I actually like Action RPG games (which FFVXIII probably gonna be) less then normal RPG games. Thus it is already a reason for me to believe I'll like FFXIII better. Besides, FFVXIII is a spinoff, so I hardly believe they'll put as much efforts in it as in FFXIII.

FFXIII Versus can't technically be classed as a spin-off as it has no link with FFXIII other than that it's about the crystals and set in the same world. As for effort, I expect just as much in this title as FFXIII since they're both by different developers and if Nomura ensures Versus is better than FFXIII it pretty much makes him untouchable within Square Enix.

It's hard to compare since there's substantially more info out on FF XIII than there is on Versus. The character designs in Versus look even more tired and rehashed than they do in FF XIII though, and I've never been impressed with Nomura as a director, so my money's on FF XIII at the moment.

You don't know that Versus has connections with FFXIII, or if it doesn't. No one does, except the game developers. There could be some secret that they've kept, and maybe it's that they are connected in more ways than one?

Personally I'm not sure. but, as in a previous post I've said that I think FFXIII will be better, and I'm still sticking with it.

Why would Nomura say they don't if they did then? And I very much doubt he's pretending since it was all very blunt and straight to the point >.>

The only thing that ties the Fabula Nova Crystallis titles together (apart from the fact they are Final Fantasies with regular themes like Moogles and that SE are behind them all) is the concept of crystals as of now. Versus wouldn't be in anyway connected directly to XIII.

Nomura- despite his questionable skills as a character designer seems to be the ace of Square Enix. Final Fantasy XIII screams too much of a VII influence and I am not too impressed with Lightning, Snow or Sazh. Lightning looks just like a Yuna mixed with Ashe. At least Vanille's design seems original enough.

We don't know that much about Versus, so we can't make a reasonable judgment as of now. I like the idea of a really dark Final Fantasy game. So far XIII's story consists of a resistance fighting a tyrant government body and a main character tasked by higher up beings to cause destruction. In other words- it sounds like a more sci fi XII without the Vaan, Balthier or Fran. And with two Shiva sisters forming a motorbike (WTF?)

Typical nomura dreck filled with over the top melodrama and bullshit faux-philosophy?

Yah... no thanks.

Try Tactics.

I don't expect nomura's attempt at this to be any better then the tripe we were given with Kingdom hearts.
