Sounds like Dissidia 012[duodecim]: Final Fantasy will have a robust single player mode. The PSP pre-sequel has new episodes with characters like Lightning and Laguna plus the entire storyline from Dissidia: Final Fantasy.

You’ll be able to play through the previous PSP game’s story using assist moves and other revisions made for Dissidia 012[duodecim]. Past episodes have newly created short scenarios to play too.

Dissidia 012[duodecim]: Final Fantasy also lets players make the fanfic of their dreams. You can make and exchange original quests in Dissidia 012[duodecim]: Final Fantasy. It isn’t clear how players distribute quests, but leaky retailer Game Star says quests can be shared across the country. Battle for Tifa’s heart scenario, here we come!

Square Enix included a data import feature where your save file from Dissidia: Final Fantasy or Dissidia: Final Fantasy Universal Tuning can be carried over. All character levels are retained in Dissidia 012[duodecim]: Final Fantasy plus you get a special accessory as a bonus.

Dissidia 012[duodecim]: Final Fantasy is slated for March 3 in Japan and it’s one of Square Enix’s Q1 titles in the West.

I was hoping that they added the data import feature
means you just play with out having to do all those tedious battles again for Ultimate weapons.

S-E can get things done properly still
I might also end up trading my old dissidia in for this too and save some cash.
the original was not really that expensive.

On topic:

You play with the same storyline of the most chars from the previous game?
Only some changes (obviously newer chars) has been made..story wise?
And some additions for the older chars..

That seems awful IMO..rehashing..Im not a dissidia player anyway.
They should make Dissidia VS MK lolzz

Awesome though you can make your own quest..but I think it wont be that extensive and impressive..but who am I lol.. I guess we'll see..

The quest feature sounds nice, really nice. Greatest thing for fans to make their dream teams. But I feel like the other new edit, will cause some problems.

So basically, they changed the story from the first game to add in new scenarios, most likely of the new characters?

They better not pull that stupid junk on Dissidia. I hope the new scenarios are just of the Last Dissidia's characters and not the new ones. Other wise -- major ret-con!

Game data import? Thank you! I got every single character in Dissidia: Final Fantasy up to Level 100, completed the PP Catalog (not sure if it will count anything towards this or not), and 100% complete battlegen, I'd hate to lose the hundreds of hours of progress.

The game Data import makes me wonder what you can do with a completed character in this game. Will they increase the level limit? 300? 400? Or maybe if you max it out, everything is going to be too easy?

Hm, I hope they added something for those who have completed the characters. Like new weapons, armor and stuff.

It would have been nice to see the weapons change of the characters when you got special weapons or something. I would have loved to see that xD
