Final Fantasy series ships 100 million worldwide




Final Fantasy has reached a new height. Square Enix has announced that the role-playing series, which began as a last effort for company survival in 1987, has shipped over 100 million units worldwide.



“We are extremely proud of what the Final Fantasy franchise has achieved over the years and continue to be extremely excited about the future. I would like thank all of our fans, partners and development teams for their support,” said Square Enix president and CEO Yoichi Wada.


The latest game in the franchise, Final Fantasy XIII-2, is currently on display at E3 in Los Angeles. We’ve posted 15 minutes of gameplay from our test run last night.

It at least looks like they fixed probably the worst aspect of FFXIII; how goddamn long non-boss battles got.

I really have nothing to take a jab at, and I hope it comes out well. It certainly looks a lot more interesting than it's predecessor.

How much of that is just meaninglessly drawn out bullshit from monsters that are to be considered trash? It's a complete waste of time.
