The Mystery Of Square Enix’s Drakerider Solved, It’s An iOS Game

Remember Drakerider? That’s another of Square Enix’s mysterious trademarks. Today, Square finally revealed what Drakerider is—an iOS game. You can watch a trailer for it below:

While the trailer for Drakerider is in Japanese, Square Enix actually brought the game with them to E3, and released English screenshots:

Square Enix’s Demons’ Score Is… An On-Rails Rhythm Shooter For Phones

More Square Enix trademark mystery-solving! Today, we know what Demons’ Score is. It looks like…an on-rails shooter for iOS and Android. And a rather good looking one at that. Square Enix developed Demons’ Score using Unreal Engine 3. Take a look at a gameplay trailer below:

...And guess what? Both of these titles end up as phone games. Why am I not surprised...

Though the Drakerider game looks mildly interesting as it gives some chaos rings vibe. And there seems to be a world map :D

:sad3:

The disturbing thing is, the design on that dragon actually reminds me of Drakengard's Angelus. I have this horrible feeling that Cavia (or at least someone from Cavia) had a hand in this, which means that it might actually be PLAYABLE...if not for the fact that it's an iOS game, and will therefore have the shittest controls imaginable, be extremely short, come with a terrifying price tag and, since I lack an iPad, I'd have to play it on a tiny iPod screen. I am most upset, Square Enix. I was hoping for some Drakengard related. I was also hoping for a PROPER game, not another one of these shitty iOS titles you're making by the truckload just because development time on them is so bloody short.

I'd also like to add that the outfit on that lolita is highly inappropriate. I also find it highly amusing that "connecting" involves stabbing a sword into a dragon's back at a point which should technically sever its spine and kill it. xD

[h=1][07/06] Demons’ Score Is More Like Square Enix’s Elite Beat Agents[/h]

I played Demons’ Score yesterday and came off with a different impression of the music/battle game from Square Enix. While it looks like an on-rails shooter, but it plays more like Ouendan or Elite Beat Agents.

Notes appear when you’re flying through a stage and if you tap them on beat you’ll do a critical attack. These notes appear in chains and some have players double or triple tap. Other notes have players trace a moving beach ball reticule around the screen. Demons’ Score also has swords, which players have to swipe towards the direction of the blade and double notes where you have to hit two spots on the touch screen.

Demons’ Score also has a touch of wackiness. The stage I played put me in control of a girl with a huge afro dressed in a disco outfit. (Also, see the ridiculous costume above, you’re really going to fight in that?)

Demons’ Score is coming to iOS and Android devices this summer.
