Square Enix has released new screenshots of Final Fantasy XIII-2‘s “Lightning and Master Sergeant Amodar” coliseum battle downloadable content. Out February 7 / 8 in North America and Europe, the content will allow you to recruit Lightning as a third party member.

More Details About The Serah Vs. Lightning Battle In Final Fantasy XIII-2

Sisterly… rivalry? On February 7, Serah and Noel can challenge Lightning in Final Fantasy XIII-2. If you purchase a DLC pack Lightning will be waiting in the coliseum.

The battle begins as a two on one fight, but midway Master Sergeant Amodar will jump into the battle. Lightning will change her battle tactics on the fly with Paradigm Shifts too. A screenshot shows Lightning and Amodar using Dual Assault, which switches both of them to the Commando role. Amodar attacks using a gigantic bayonet attached to his Gatling Gun. He can also launch Serah or Noel in the air and blast away with bullets. Amodar has grenades too and these can cause negative status effects.

The Lightning coliseum battle will cost 240 Microsoft Points ($3) on Xbox Live or 300 yen on PlayStation Network.

This, is over the top, yet I love it.
Perhaps a little over the top, but I like the idea that they can Launch your party, just as you can Launch enemies.
 
just adding this into the thread, a trailer for the DLC,


can't wait to get going with the game tomorrow, going to be fun
 
If I can have lightning in my party then I don't even wanna play till then. Although if lightning is in your party then what's the point of the game. I'm confused.

you only play as lightning for the tutorial battle at the start, after that it just serah and noel for the rest of the game, if you get the crystal (which has a very low capture rate) you can add her to the party as a monster, you will not be able to control her just like the rest of the monsters

but as long as shes in my party it still would make the whole story of trying to find her stupid if shes right here in your party. DLC after beating the game is the only way it makes sense.
