Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance screens show dropping, distances

The flood of 3DS images which completely fail to suggest 3D effects continues. Today’s hot contender is Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, with ten new screens showing character switching, roomy level design, and one of the titular drops.

Have a look at the gallery below to see Sora and Riku bouncing about the same stages; look closely and you’ll notice differences between the two scenarios, most notably in the pair with a figure floating above a podium.
There’s a couple of dramatic closeups, which are probably in-game cutscenes and should give you an idea of what Square Enix has managed to coax out of the 3DS so far.

Hmm... it seems interesting, as any other Kingdom Hearts, to be sure. But what pisses me off is that they keep switching gaming consoles for these games. How do they expect the fans to keep up with the story? Not everyone has 3Ds, PSP, Playstation 2, DS, and a Playstation 3 (Just in case...). I'd love to play this game, but I'm not willing to spend $250 dollars for a new 3Ds and this game...

While I understand the "grr, multiplatform is evil" mind set (I really do, I was pissed before I eventually got a DS and PSP myself), I don't understand why people chew out Kingdom Hearts more than any other series for such a travesty. There are other story connecting series spread out over different consoles, but I rarely hear people rage over those, so why KH?

Also, those screen shots are just from the trailer they already revealed. Nothing new to see yet

Also, KH3D is still TBA, probably speculated for SUMMER 2012, so I think by that time, the 3DS may drop in significant pricing. I know I'm not grabbing the system at debut, but I might grab it in time for this game's release

I don't rage about other series because Kingdom Hearts is the only multiplatform game that I've encountered . That, and I'm poor. Hmmm.... I wonder if they'll make one just for the DS too... that'd be nice

Wow, I wanna say this looks awesome... but, I don't really know the deal with this storyline?


Why do we keep going backwards in the story for KH. I want to see where Sora, Donald, and Goofy are NOW... not then.

Nomura himself said that KH3D IS NOT A FRIGGIN' KH1 REMAKE!

Nomura actually hasn't drawn any specific drawings for Kingdom Hearts 3D yet. He's actually looking into an idea of changing Sora and Riku's clothing. One of the reasons for this is that if the characters appear in the same clothing, some people might think that KH3D is a remake.

Of course, Sora and Riku have to appear in their original Kingdom Hearts forms as part of the story. Nomura said that he's considering having them appear in their current clothing at the start of the game, and change midway through.

I don't really know of any other series as popular as KH that is on multi platforms?
