I was under the impression that that scene with snow wasn't too far into the future from the end of FFXIII (Hope still looked really young) and snow didn't look any different to me. Then again, that would not make any sense in the story line...

But yes, I agree playing the japanese version was fantastic. Had to play the PAL version as well for the extra features.
The special release PS3 is doubtful to be released anywhere else. It looks ok, artistically nice.

The best would be an option for Japanese voicing with subs to avoid lip syncing for english speakers. Especially if they do it on blu ray..Will it be download only?

I agree with this. It is expected but I didn't realise so soon. I can't see much will improve with a remastering, as I have played the PAL version as well. I am excited none the less.
