He definitely survives, I never understood why some people wanted to take a happy ending and turn it into something depressing based on no evidence at all!
Actually, I think it's more because Grown Ups was such a big hit in the US. To say interest in this film is very low is silly, it won't be an Iron Man 3-sized hit but should still do pretty well. Though to me it looks like Evangelion without any of the stuff that makes Evangelion so...
Not sure why it matters so much that the character design has changed a bit. The previous version of Stella was hardly Quasimodo. I do prefer the older version from those screenshots but oh well!
You shouldn't be forking out over $400 for the sake of two games anyway. And there'll have to be a FFXV sooner or later, because SE need a new main entry in the series as a source of income. They're not going to go the best part of another decade without a FFXV.
A few of my favourites:
Midgar (FFVII) - certainly not a pleasant place, but a very memorable one.
Winhill (FFVIII) - I have a soft spot for the sleepy, quiet towns in FF games and this is maybe my favourite of all of them. The ghosts of the past hang heavy here as well and it gives the place...
I do love Baz Luhrmann's first three films, and I hope he can return to that sort of form with this. And DiCaprio is usually good value too. But I do worry that film adaptations of really classic novels tend to have a spotty track record as they often feel crushed by the weight of the source...
I loved Lance Armstrong in Dodgeball, but it's not so fun anymore :(
The Ramones in the Simpsons episode Rosebud is a big favourite (capped off by Mr Burns' line: 'Have The Rolling Stones killed.') - also Radiohead in the South Park episode Scott Tenorman Must Die.
FFVII:
Climbing up the stairs of Shinra Tower
FFVIII:
'I dreamt I was a moron.'
Seifer calling Zell 'chicken-wuss'
'We're here to liberate Balamb, y'know? I mean, we're here to liberate Balamb!'
FFIX:
Vivi and Quina getting 'married'
Zidane calling Steiner 'Rusty'
Baku beating up Cinna
Baku...
Another pointless horror remake that almost certainly won't compare to the original (see also: Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street etc) - hooray!
OK that's maybe a a bit harsh as Sam Raimi is involved in this, but still unsure this will live up to the original. Besides the comedy/horror mix...
I find it highly amusing anyone continues to argue with this guy.
Anyway, gun control arguments are pointless, nothing will change, nothing ever does. And it's not just laws, it's over two hundred years of attitudes. Good luck to any politician who even attempts to start trying to change that.
'Huge shift in moral values' - you mean things like equal rights for women/black people/homosexuals, allowing abortions and the idea of sex not being just for procreation? I like how you shift the blame from the attitudes/laws regarding guns in the USA to those pesky hippies.
