I started making signatures on Gimp a few weeks ago. It's pretty fun for me so far and I'm trying to improve my signatures. A lot of them look lame compared to a lot of other people's signatures though.

Here's some sigs from oldest to most recent:

I think this one is your best. I like the colors, the tidiness, and the text.

You're definitely on the right track with following tutorials. I'd suggest doing a few more of the beginner tutorials, and then start looking for some more advanced ones in deviantArt.
