I can certainly say that this thread is sure to be my most controversial yet. Currently studying Germany between 1918-39, our History class has learned much about Hitler, the Nazi's, the SS, the SA, the Gestapo and other such groups. Our teacher asked a question, expecting an obvious answer, but what he got back was a full period of discussion on Hitler.
The question:
"Was Adolf Hitler a bad man?"
Despite how simple the question may be, you would be surprised as to how many people voted for Hitler being a good leader. Before people start hating me, let me explain.
After the War, Germany was in a state of Economic Depression. The Treaty of Versailles, nevermind the war, left her weak and powerless. After many, many attempts to comply with Democracy, it was clear to the people of Germany that Democracy was failing. What Germany needed was a strong leader, one who would take her out of the depression.
The basic concept of the argument was that Hitler was either:
-A power-hungry dictator who wanted nothing more than total domination with his Aryan Race.
-A man who simply wanted to restore Germany's pride, power and place with the other countries of the World.
There is no doubt to the fact that Hitler commited crimes far worse than death, but I ask the question to you all:
"Was Adolf Hitler a bad man?"
