I think XII is the only Final Fantasy that gets to be adapted directly in manga (correct me if I'm wrong, I hope I am :)), and it is still on-going!

If you hated the game because of the story, characters (VAAN) or whatever, the manga does a great job in telling the story without changing the original story line too much, and adds more to it.

Here is part of chapter one to get you hooked:

Positives:
+NOT FOCUSED ON VAAN
+Basch is so hot <3
+Great character interactions (lacked a lil in game)

Negatives:
-Non-linear plot + lots of info, new-comers maybe confused

Oooh. I really like this! I just found it on mangafox... they have Volume one, and the first chapter of volume 2, and I really really like it :jess: The manga actually manages to make Vaan less annoying... I kinda wish that the game had shown more of Ashe's story prior to the game, as the manga did... I actually found myself liking her more in the manga than I did in the game.

I might have to check this out though. I think the story of XII was decent; it just could have been more fleshed out so a manga might do just that. It's a bit hard to read it on the video though. :hmmm:
 
Vosslers not THAT good looking to begin with =P (Basch so much hotter in comparison!) You can read it better if you watch it in full screen.

I don't think it is official, but the manga story goes from BEFORE FFXII and some in between cut-scenes from the game. It's hard to explain but you'll see what I mean when you read the manga. From what I've read so far, there are little changes
(involving Gabranth and Basch, and his scar)
compared to the game, but that's ok.

So it's not like the KINGDOM HEARTS MANGA that is official? That sucks.
 
Kingdom Hearts have a manga?! Now I've got to read that too!
But I don't think That makes a difference though, whether it is official or not, it follows the original story line and characters' personalities quite closely.

Yea, there's a KH manga, FF characters and all. They're a great read. Anyway, it does kinda matter, if it's not official I can't really hold it with the real game. That's why I'm wondering if it's official or not.
 
Ok never mind it is official. After a quick search on google and wikipedia, the pages and pictures match up, just in Japanese not English =)
You're totally missing out if you don't read it~
(I know I'm missing out on the KH manga, I'ma go find it now)

Meh, I still think Vossler's better looking than Basch but to each his own. And I tried the fullscreen thing as well and it didn't really work out. I'll have to find it online somewhere. It's good that they fleshed out some of the events before the game since the story in-game wasn't really heavy on character development.
 
I've read the first few chapters of the manga and while I did like some things about it (the character interaction, for sure) overall, I found it kind of boring. I tried to keep up with it for as long as I could mentally bear because of my love of the game (and because I write fanfiction and every little scrap of information helps me in my goal to respect canon) but in the end I just had to ditch it. :( *sad violin music plays*
