Help FFXIII: Help with vanille and sahz?

How did you get such high defense?
Like when they did raigng fury and you didint have much life left, you still never died
How did you do that?

You need to sort out with the way you are upgrading your Characters, I you can't expect them all to walk around in top strength and beat everything you need to think over the way you advance their skill's

Are you sure you're upgrading both characters in the Crystarium? After each fight and boss battle, I do that. It is really necessary to upgrade your characters as much as possible.
Do you fight every enemy you come across? Do you run past them?
What accessory do you have connected to Vanille & Sazh? I have Magican's Mark for Vanille, and Spark Ring for Sazh.
What weapons do you have for the characters?

If you don't have enough CP or just run past enemies, then I highly urge you to backtrack to the parts where you click on the glowing things to turn the weather from rain & sunny, and fight every enemy. Spend CP in the Crystarium until you're at 'Role Model' level for each character's roles.

I beat Enki and Enlil like this:

*First off, you WILL have to heal throughout this fight, or you WILL die. You also mentioned that you don't like poisoning, but I'd go ahead and try to at least stomach the idea of it for this fight, then get used to it for future boss battles.*

Focus on Enlil first, which is the green one. Start with the Tide Turner paradigm (Saboteur & Synergist). You'll be controlling the Saboteur (Vanille), so cast Deshell, Deprotect, and Poison on Enlil first thing to soften him up. While you're doing this, Sazh should have cast Bravery and Faith on both characters. Once your buffs/debuffs are in place, switch to Slash & Burn (Ravager & Commando) to start raising Enlil's Chain Gauge. Charge it about half way then switch to Dualcasting (two Ravagers) to quickly Stagger him. Then switch back to Slash & Burn while he's Staggered to eat away at his health. Repeat this strategy until Enlil is dead (with regular paradigm shifts to heal as necessary using War & Peace (Medic & Commando), something you will definitely have to do a couple times). Then repeat everything to kill Enki, although the shift to Tide Turner probably is not necessary. Just remember to switch to War & Peace regularly to keep yourself alive and you shouldn't have any more issues with this fight.

Hope this helps!
