Anyone remember this great game for the original Playstation? It was one of the first Playstation games I got and in my opinion it is the best platform game ever released. Yet for some reason everyone seem to have forgotten all about it. At first glance it looked like every other old school side-scrolling platform game, but the mission-based gameplay and incorporation of adventure game elements made it truly unique.

I just got my old copy sent down to me from Denmark, and I've been obsessed with it all over again these last couple of days. How this game failed to become huge is truly beyond my comprehension.

Wait, is this the game that had you controlling a little purple-pink haired caveman / troll thing? Enemies were pigs or something I think.

If so, then I only played the demo but I felt that it really rocked. It was one of my most played demos on my Playstation and I loved the gameplay and feel of the game. I never got a chance to buy the game but might pick it up if I see it somewhere (unlikely) or it is released as a download in the PSN (also unlikely).

Thanks for reminding me about this though.

That is exactly the one! I think I've seen the game once before in a Bargain Bin, but judging from the prices on amazon on ebay it doesn't look like the game is in wide circulation. A release for the console online stores would be ace. I think Sony owns the publishing rights too, and with the success of alternative platformers like Braid, they might decide to give Tombi a second chance :)
