Do you know how to use a washing machine?

Yes, and I use it quite often. Them's the breaks of moving out on your own. :gasp:

The bigger surprise is that I bother to sort my whites from my colored clothes, adjust the temperature setting (protip: whites use hot), and use bleach when appropriate! I iron shirts when they need ironing...but I guess this is about the washing machine.

I don't see the big deal about using it, really...they aren't that complicated.

I learned how to so that I could help my mom out on the weekends. She's busy doing something work-related 95% of the time, so I've taken over the job of washing clothes and towels. I'll be out on my own in about 3 years, so it's a useful skill to have.

Yes, I use it every weekend. It's an important skill for any young adult. :monster:
Yeah, right. I hate doing laundry 'cause it takes up about 2 hours of my day to work on and it's really boring.

But at least I know.

I do know, actually. I've known since I was about 10-12. I put some clothes in earlier... >.>

Mine's not complicated though. Throw the clothes in, add the soap crap (I don't remember the proper word >.<, pull the knob out, twist to the 8, and push the knob in again. Simple :D

I sure do! At the laundry building in my complex, it's very simple. Add detergent (fill to the line) and I also use fabric softner (again, fill to the line) and voila. I generally have to wash my cloths in a little less than a week before I run out of them. Now if only our dryers would work better, then it would be perfect.

Haha, no freaking idea. I guess if I slammed a few buttons I might get it to work. I think Mum taught me once, but it's escaped my mind tbh. I know how much of that powder stuff to put in, but the timer confuses the crap out of me.

So, that would be a no. :D

Er, for a girl at my age, it would be essential, I switch it on at the wall, then add water to the fill mark, *Is stuck*, then press start. I really have got to get a hands-on. lol

Yeah, I learned before leaving for college. It's pretty easy with the washers you have now a days. Take your clothes, shove them in the washer, add detergent and whatever else, press a few buttons, then go off and do something else for about 40 minutes. The washer does all the work really. <_<

When I first got to my appartment in Kyoto back in March, there was a washing machine there.
Usually I work those things fine. But if everything is in Japanese, its a bit different.

So I just tried a couple of things first. Still dont know how to put in hot water, because it washes my clothes with cold water only.
I don't really care though, going back home in a few weeks. Really glad to be able to use my own washing machine again. At least that one has hot water. And the soap comes in a box with Dutch writing in stead of weird ass kanji i'm to lazy to figure out.

So when I can read it, then Yes, i can use a washing machine. Otherwise, give me a minute.

Also I always seperate colours. Because you never know. I had a white shirt with an dark pink shirt underneath it. (like atatched at the shoulders) and I washed it, the white is now light pink. Meh still looks fine.
Also I washed something bright yellow with something blue. The blue shirt is now greenish. But also that doesn't look too bad so. I'm kinda lucky when it comes to that. Even if I make a mistake, the end result is never a waste.

Yes, I do. It doesn't take much really. I taught myself how to use one in 4th grade. I found that every time I let someone else do my laundry, I would always be missing one too many pairs of socks or coincidentally (or just my luck) a favorite t-shirt or two. This happens to me no more.

I do, i just dont want to do it :>
Mod edit: Can you please put more effort into your posts plese, thanks =]

I know how to work MY washer quite well. Lol. It's self explainatory. =/. It has a button for cotton/sturdy, wrinkle release, and so on...

Then on the other side it has the temperature. Hot/Cold, Cold/Cold, Warm/Cold, etc...

Then it has the start/pause button. SIMPLE! Lol. All I do is pour in some detergent and in the clothes go. haha. I seperate my jeans, colors, and whites. =).

had to figure it out... was by myself for a lil bit n clothes needed to be washed it wsd a mission at first but its ez now

Yes, I do. It's a lot of experimentation to see what works, but after one or two loads, you should have a rough idea of what you need to do. Yeah...

Yea I no how to use it, but not quite well. I put all the clothes together and threw 'em in the damn WM and put it on 15 mins. Then put the clothes in the dryer and come to take them after the 5 mins of drying. finish :)

I have no idea to be honest. My girlfriend showed me how to operate the washing machine once, but since she's the one doing all our washing, I quickly forgot again.

Lmao Sir Kenneth xD

If Im honest, I wouldn't trust anyone other than me washing my own clothes, at least if I ruin something it's my own fault. The idea of trusting any of my exes with the washing makes my blood run cold. 60 degree washes are NOT good for most of my clothes!! I learnt that myself the hard way :gonk:

My mum always shrinks stuff and dyes stuff in the wash, I guess being useless is hereditary - I only know what 3 settings on my washer do, but Il avoid 60 like the plague unless its towels or bed sheets
