Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy is an official symphony concert that tours around the world in order to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Final Fantasy. It is conducted by Arnie Roth, and features music composed by Nobuo Uematsu.

And on the evening of May 22, 2009 I had the pleasure of attending one of the Distant Worlds concerts in Singapore. The orchestra was fantastic, and scenes from each game added to the fun. I even got to meet Uematsu sensei right after. This is something that reminds you how amazing FF is and its not something to pass up if you can go.

So has anyone else been to any performances or planning to go to any? Share experiences/ideas here ^^

Hello. I'll be attending the concert on July 18 in San Francisco, CA. I'm truly looking forward to this day. Did Nobuo Uematsu attend your concert? If so, did you meet him?

According to the Distant Worlds website, he will be attending ours and for $110 we get to meet him. IS ANYONE ELSE ATTENDING THIS SHOW, OR BOTH ATTENDING THE SHOW AND MEETING NOBUO?

Yes, Nobuo Uematsu attended as well, and we got to meet him briefly during a merch signing after the concert.

Wow! :O

What was it like meeting him? He's certainly one of the top people I would like to meet.

Also, it's a shame I never hear of any tours or concerts in the UK like this... I'd love to attend, but it never seems to happen here. :sad2:

It was surprising for the most part, since I didn't even expect him to be there. I was quite starstruck, actually. ^_^

But he was very nice and it was a wonderful experience.

He may just come to the UK one day, why not?

Wow! :O You are extremely lucky!

And perhaps. I'll keep an eye out... I guess.. Though personally I don't know where to look to find out these things. But I haven't heard of any UK or even European concerts of this kind with these people.. They may exist but I have never heard of them around here.

Is there a special website to check for this stuff, or is it just luck and hearing news?

I wonder why they exist in the United States and not Europe? But even US shows are pretty rare. Living in Asia has its benefits I suppose.

There aren't any special websites that I know of, luck and news is pretty much the only way to go. :/
