okay!! i have played and completed many rpgs and hope to complete many more, I JUST CANT GET ENOUGH!!

i started playing this game without a HUGE expectation but was quickly swept into a very intriguing story and instantly likable characters and locations!!
seriously. this could be the most impressive architecture ive ever seen in a game , and the scale its on is amazing, the sheer size of the areas makes me really feel like im on a journey you know!!

tho i have a 360 and ps3 i am more impressed with the shher effort and diversity in the enviroments...

alost the music desersee a mentoin, I AM A HUGE FOLLWER OF BOTH NOBUO UEMATSU AND YOSHINORI MITSUDSA and im not saying it beats these at rehre best, but thre are some truly memorable themes so far!!
some beautifull music!! PARAMINA RIFT., OZMONE PLANE. BUR OMISACE AND so on and so forht, such atmospehere, OH, and im now at THE PHON COAST5 and have been playing for 70 hours.

how long have you guys played this game for!!!

To be honest i just wanted to complete it as soon as i could i didnt really like it all to much i tried to but it just didn't feel like a final fantasy game I Hated the battle system the random battles gone as well, I did like the characters though And the Music was Not to bad not Like FF10 Or FF7 standard though.

////

each to there own i say, but you must commend the risk square took with this game, the changes in my opinion are for the best, the art design and environments make drool!!

bring on FF13

Oh yes, I agreeeeee. 8D The opening to the game was quite intriguing. You are instantly pulled into the lovely graphics of this game. The towns are all lively and beautiful to explore, with a ton of NPCs to interact with to boot.

I think I've put... thirty hours into this game? I'm not done with it, yet. xD;;;;

You'll put in many more, trust me!
I've clocked over 100 hours now, and I'm still not finished it, haha!

It's a really good game. Very political, very intriguing.
The grphics are beautiful. I must admit, I really missed turn-based battles, it's just something I associate with FF games by now...but tht said, the system is fun once one adjusts :)

i think alot of ppl hate it cuz its not eazy in the begginning lik most FF's seriously u can die at lvl 1. I personally like it, only 40 hours usely wold complete a normal FF game but im not eve close to being done :O

Yeah, getting all of the espers and hunts is kind of overwhelming, almost. There's so much to do, that the game really does pay for itself. *u*

I realllllly liked the battle system, too. Sure, some aspects could be improved upon (which I suspect might be fixed up in XIII), but overall, it was a change from the turn based system. Also, rather than getting random encounters, I preferred seeing the enemy. Who else has gotten frustrated in previous games when you get a random encounter every two steps?

<--- This gamer does, FFX malcalania woods or w/e, nightmares! random encounter gallur.

And ya FFX12 was a great game start to finish but playing it over again and again was quite boring once u learned all the game machanics and missions. Wayyyy to much melee combat going on, spells shoulda been more usful which would make the gameplay more interesting. Also they shoulda made the leveling system more towards the one in FF2 where the more u used a spell or attack the better that move would be or created 2 entirely diffrent license boards one fore hard core spell casters and one for pure melee hax and slash characters or hyprid. I basicly started doing all the hard mode challenges to keep me interested. Now as for FFX, that never got boring, i dont know why though :P maybe cause each had a role ( melee type or caster type) and each did there job very well depending on encounters. Plus story was top notch.

You can die at level 1 on any game. I didn't find it all that hard in the beginning or at all really. And you could easily avoid the higher level monsters because they had a red health bar.

I don't remember how many hours I clocked but I did most of the sidequests. I can't say the game really blew me away either. I liked parts of it. I thought the scenery, cities and areas of the game were done well for the most part. The battle system was okay once I got used to it and I loved the hunting sidequests. I enjoyed a lot of the supporting cast as well. I didn't really care for the main characters; I found them to be quite boring. And the story was good at parts but it felt unfinished to me.

Very political
I have to agree to a certain extent, it was one of the reasons that I sorta like the game although I wish they'd have put more effort into the background of the characters. I couldn't disagree that the size of the areas, the graphics, music and the the actual appearance of the areas are amazing. It's just the battle system and lack of development in the characters/story that's a let down.

It'd be understandable for someone to think the game is amazing, especially those who haven't played an FF game before, it's just more easy to disagree with it being amazing having played better FF titles. But good on you for rating it so highly and I hope you keep enjoying it. :monster:

I was the same way when I started. Actually...when I first started, I hated the game. I thought the story was lacking, the gameplay was repetitive, and the characters were boring. But as I played, I realized the beauty of the game. The massive worlds, the extensive hunts, the puzzles, and the character depth that "eventually" shows itself.

This is a great game. Perhaps not on the same level as some of the classic titles, but still one to remember.

My last save is at 70 hours in the Lhusu Mines... however, it's not the story part of Lhusu but the fight with Gilgamesh! ;o
I'm currently at the Pharos.

Man, I cant rmember. Think I was 35 hours in last time I played and my characters were bout level 30 roughly. I lost interest very quickly with that game. It starts off well, but the battle system and the confusing political storyline makes me shut off.

I'm making a return to FFXII today, I've put off playing it for so long, because of other games and Uni, but now I am gonna get back into it. The game is just so vast, so many places to explore, monsters to fight, tis all exciting stuff.

Yes, FFXII 'blew me away' too. One of the greatest things, in my opinion, was the simple fact that you could rotate the camera. I think it added so much to the immersion and showed how much detail was in the locations. When I go back to FFX, I sometimes find myself trying to get the right analog stick to work!

But everything about XII just seems vast. Ivalice is enormous and varied, there are loads of items, there's the largest ability set ever, a bestiary of every enemy you counter with a description of it that links it to an enormous background lore of the world, there are hundreds of NPCs to talk to - and more than ever, they do say different things as events progress in the world around them.

Of course, the game has its flaws, but I still felt distinctly overwhelmed at how vast and detailed it was. I'm at about 150 hours now: I've already completed it, but I'm doing all the side-quests and still haven't finished.

The storyline and characters didn't blow me away at first, but how BIG and how much hours you can put into this game, blew me away ~~ :P

Think there is somebody on Youtube who had 900 hours saved on his game with everybody at level 99 and all of the missions and side-missions done..

Mean- 900 hours- whoa ! 0__0

But the storyline and character development didn't really blow me away until about 10 hours into the game, up to the Airship Dreadnought and starting to like the game better..

Excuse me, but I've played all of the Final Fantasies before hand and I'd still rank FF XII a bit higher than most of the serie. I mean, people who rank FF 7 and FF X at the highest of their list have no reason to talk to be honest.

Excuse me?

People can have their own opinions tyvm, there is no need to be rude, you're not the only one to have played all the FF's, go you aren't you clever. XII certainly didn't blow me away and I wouldn't rank it particularly high on my list either, certainly not above VII or X, or VIII, IX IV and III for that matter

Hmm last I checked, people can have their own opinions. As Bambi said, you're not the only to have played all the FFs either. I, in particular, didn't enjoy XII. It didn't get me that 'Final Fantasy' feeling like all the other games have in the past. FFX, VII and VIII are still on the top of my most my favorite so excuse me, but I'll talk all I want, thanks. It's people like you who are acting condescending towards the members with difference in opinions who have no room to talk. In short, watch your temper and your tone. We don't tolerate it here and won't tolerate it from you either.

This game was seriously one of the best games i've ever played!
Fantastic storyline, intresting characters, cool animations, quickenings...
The only thing that's not good are Ashe's "Aaah!", she says it all too often and it sounds just whimpy, the large amount of MP consumed by Quickenings, and that i's a little too hard sometimes
