I would appreciate some help getting the doom train.

I have the Solomon's Ring. Now I need the steel pipes, and Malboro Tentacle.

Any walk through I face , tells me to steal these items off of Wendigos and Malboros.

By steal does it mean kill them and hope that you receive the item ? I do not have mug, or any thief capabilities, and I am on the 3rd CD.

Only way to steal is to learn the Mug ability and equip it in your ability part in junction sceen then attack with that character until you get a successful steal. Best way to learn it is to set to learn and go fight ont he beach near balamb easy fish to kill get 6 ap a fight.

You can obtain items in two ways - by mugging enemies (learned from Diablos for 200 AP) or by receiving them after the battle. Thanks to Kelly, I learned that enemies drop more items than they give up when you steal them - you're better off just fighting Malboros and Wendigo's (use Degenerator on the Malboros!) and getting the items that way.

Thank you both, my team is not very healthy for being in the upper 90's . I forgotten how little leveling up in this game matters.

Now , I am trying to get GFS to raise my HP, and knock down power so that I can kill a huge cactus , and fight Seifer without failing again.

Any ways, I am wandering off, I came here for specifics , I am going back to it. I need to beat this game before college rears the corner again.

small words

To beat the Cactor just spam Leviathan and other water spells. XD!! He is kind of hard. You might wanna train on TICTH (The Island closest to Hell/heaven... yeah Ticth)

I do not want to evade more space than necessary , so I will continue to post here. Where can I get remedy + for the doom train

or

Where can I get red fangs, for a new weapon?

Online says that red fangs can be found near hell, I have yet to encounter a hell, so I have no idea where the hell to go. Does anyone know where I can find red fangs, yes?

Thank you

Whoa, whoa, no MUG??!! Trouble looms ahead for you.

Steel Pipes
1) Refine Elastoid Cards. 1 card = 1 Pipe
2) Mug/Kill Wendigos. (Mugging has a higher chance of getting Pipes I believe)

Malboro Tentacles
1) Go to Island Closest To Heaven/Hell and find a Malboro to Mug. Run away after you mug to avoid death.
2) 4 Malboro Cards = 1 Malboro Tentacle.

Remedy +
1) Get Alexander to learn Med Data(?) to unlock Med Lvl Up. Learn this then Lvl Up Remedies. 10 Remedy = 1 Remedy +.

Red Fang - Hell = The Island Closest To Hell
1) Mug/Kill Chimeras on the Island Closest To Hell OR in Kashkabald Desert.

So I got mug, beat odin , but he hasn't shown up yet ever. I am trying to kill 20 tonaberries, what a waste of GF item, is this GF worth it?

Is this related to getting Doomtrain in your party as a GF? If not, feel free to make your own topic so that others can help you out with your question.

Odin only has a percent of chance to show up and kill of the enemy in a single hit. Any GF is worth it the more you have the more areas you can junction magic to and in that game since enemies level with you, you want the best kinda junctioning you can get

Will odin ever attack CACTUAR?
Odin never attacks bosses.
I can't remember if Doomtrain has any good abilities, because he isn't vital.
The best way to get stronger in FFVIII is to junction magic effectively, as long as you can do that, the game is easy.
And Tonberry King is very worth it, his visit shop is the only way you can buy anything on Disc 4.

I wish I knew how to junction magic effectively, but as is things are less than superb .

The game will do it for you, when you go to junction magic, select auto and it will junction the magic for you according to what you prioritise, Health, Magic or Strength.
That being said, it will only junction the magic that you have in stock. To get better types of magic use Diablos' encounter none and go to the Islands closest to heaven and hell and draw from the hidden draw points. As they are hidden you'll have to walk around pressing x all the time.

Looks like I really messed up I have lion heart but it only takes off 20-400 hp to my foes. How do I stop slicing like a paper cut?

Maybe this advice will help and I wont hit like a rock anymore, thanks.

Whoa That is badly wrong. Because of Odin I got through the 3rd disk will little fight against me. Odin comes out against anything and wins against everything 'cept Seifer.
As for junctions junction the most effective to your defenses, so you are immune to status effects, and absorb elemental attacks. With that you will be pron to stay at full health through most fights.

No actually I'm right. Odin will never attack a boss.

There's a very easy formula for success in FFVIII. Junction 100 ultimas to Squall's strength, he'll do a lot with normal attacks, but that's not how to go about winning the game.
You cast meltdown, or summon Doomtrain on the boss, cast aura on squall and get his to use renzokuken, then he'll do Lionheart which is just 9,999 each time.

I don't know what the F*** game you played, but I have had him come out on Edea, behamut, and the weapon. he can come out against bosses.
