do u think the ivalice alliance wrecked the final fantasy world

Mod Edit

Please put more effort into your post. Why do you think the Ivalice Alliance wrected the Final Fantasy world?

Not in my opinion, but I have only played 12 and Revenant Wings and I like those games :)

I really don't see how the Ivalice Alliance wrecked the world of FF. :wacky:
FFXII had the potential to be a great game but the main let down was just the character depth, FFT:WoTL is a great game as are the other Tactic games and it is probably one of the most underrated FF titles there is...as for Revenant Wings, I haven't played it but I've heard positive things about it as I have with FFTA2 and Vagrant story.
So did it wreck the world of FF?...No!

it didn't because all the games i've seen with it's sign on it are really good games. so pretty much, i think they may have helped a little.

I thought VIII and IX weren't anything special. It was like all the previous games added up to the success of VII and that VII was the great magnum opus such that everything after was over-shadowed. But I'd say since X the FF franchise is starting to recover. For the most part, I think the alliance will help stimulate the franchise and add even more development to one of the FF worlds...much like what VII Comp is doing.

The "world of FF" is such a vague concept anyways, I don't see how any one game, or segment of spin-off games for that matter, could harm it in any way...not to mention the fact that FFTactics & Vagrant Story are two of SQUARE'S BEST EVER!!!

Uh, no. There is no "Final Fantasy world", it's just the name of a barely-connected series.

The Ivalice Alliance is of course connected, and I think that's one of the fantastic things about it. The amount of lore they have established is simply amazing, especially considering how they're able to keep everything continuous. For instance, the Aegyl in Revenant Wings are what were referred to in the Floating Tower wonder in Tactics:

There are all sorts of things like that tying the games together, and not only is it impressive but it's nice to have an established mythos. And seeing as how they're not intruding on other FF games (I don't see Ramza fighting alongside Tidus), I don't see how they're wrecking anything. In fact, I hope they release more games in the Ivalice Alliance, especially something dealing with the war between the Espers and Occuria.

i do ff war of the lions was so retarded i could of made it i cant belive i wasted £30 on it

I'm going to be blunt here. Judging from the way you type and your age, you either sucked hard at that game or you couldn't comprehend the story (or both). Tactics is in NO way retarded, and I can't see any legitimate reasons for calling it such. Or maybe I just got trolled.

*EDIT*

Actually, nvm, I think I did just get trolled, I'm pretty sure zack1993 is auron1993. Lawl, that's sad, making another account just so someone can agree with you.

Erm... no.

and all of our new smilies suck and are horribly noticeable, as I've just discovered. On topic, though...

I can't see why anyone could claim that war of the lions made about as much sense/is about amusing as a babbling retard, since it's one of the most, if not the most, realistic stories of Final Fantasy.

Your character was never an emo fag, and the game was actually challenging throughout. I'm not much of a hardcore gamer, but Final Fantasy Tactics is a classic that's worthy of some attention.

So I don't think that Final Fantasy Tactics messed up the Franchise at all. It was definitely refreshing for me to be able to play a game where your characters aren't all a bunch of bleeding hearts.

the only complaint I'd probably have about the game is the lack of involvement of characters in your party that had previously shown a lot of involvement in issues you and your party confronted. It was a tad irritable.
