Holy effing god, who else is excited about this movie? Sure, it's coming out July 18th of next year....but still!

At first I was sort of worried when Nolan cast Heath Ledger as the Joker. But after seeing the teaser trailer and some of the new photos that were recently released...it's pretty obvious that Nolan knows exactly what he is doing.

Here are some newly released photos: (contains...spoilers...? If you don't wanna see what the Joker looks like, don't click!)

Ahh! I'm so excited! It looks AWESOME. (I hated the campy/cheesy Joker from Burton's Batman. It made me gag.)

Wow! It looks sweet! I'm sure Heath Ledger is going to do an awesome job as the Joker.

Next year we should see the midnight release with Admiral! XD

Oh and Tim Burton sucks anyways.

I'm really excited about this movie. I loved Batman Begins. Eh, I'm still not feeling Heath Ledger as the Joker but we'll see. I actually liked Jack Nicholson as the Joker. I haven't seen that movie since I was a kid though so I don't know how well it holds up over time. :P

Aww...I like Tim Burton. Well, I liked Sleepy Hollow anyway.

I also like Sleepy Hollow as well as the Nightmare before Christmas, Beetlejuice, Pee-wee's big Adventure, and James and the Giant Peach. I just don't like him as a person. I heard he's one of those artys fartsy guys that think very highly of themselves.

Ah, I see. o_O I completely forgot about Beetlejuice. I love that movie. I also liked The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Back on subject, Is the Scarecrow going to be back? I'm really interested in seeing his development.

I'm not too sure actually. I vaguely remember the ending of Batman Begins. (Darn need to re-watch it.) Well according to IMDB it has been rumored that Cillian Murphy (Scarecrow) will be in the movie.

I know that the movie is based on Frank Miller's comic The Dark Knight Returns.

Trailer for the awesome looking Gotham Knight which will be an animated film showing what happened to Batman between Batman Begins and Dark Knight in 6 individual chapters. Will be released early July before the movie is out. Scarecrow will be in one of the chapters.

I think it's just a title similarity, actually...How would they possibly base the sequel of the last movie off of DKR?? The first one had a few things they got from Frank Miller's Batman: Year One (possibly because Batman Begins was a Year Two story...?)...Batman escaping that building using the actual bats for cover w/that supersonic sound thingy was taken directly from Year One...but DKR was an alternate future where Bruce is gettin' old and there's a new Robin who's a girl...and he kicks the CRAP outta Superman (w/a little help from his friends :P). I just can't imagine what they'd be able to really take from DKR...but they need to just MAKE a DKR movie...it'd be so badass and even has a sequel (The Dark Knight Strikes Again)!

Anyways...I'm looking forward to this movie, I guess...I wasn't really wowed by Begins, myself tho...it was better than the previous movies (especially 3 & 4)...but how much is that saying anyways...? They gave Bruce a love interest (lame) and the fight scenes were filmed very bleh...I was hoping someone would've taken notes from X2...or even the first two Spider-Man films...oh well...

Thanks for the link! The new trailer is awesome. I'm so hyped for this movie! I hope I can grab the midnight showing tickets.

I didn't notice that Harvey Dent was in the movie. I hope it's a hint at the next Batman that Two-Face will be the villain.

I second that, the new trailer looks epic :neomon:
I would probably say the reason I've looking forward to this film is because, unlike the other Batman films, and generally a lot of films, the Joker actually looks scary and evil...plus the storyline, based on the trailer, looks amazing.

Hey, if Jack Nicholson showed up at my front door in his old Joker getup, I'd certainly piss myself and hope he didn't gun me down...I don't think I could stand being a male Oracle! Information gathering...what a feminine ability...>_<

EDIT: You see, in the comics, the Joker showed up at Gordan's house and shot his daughter who just happened to be Batgirl, forcing her to live her further life in a wheelchair, ending her career as Batgirl...But not ending her life as a crime fighter. She takes on the persona known as Oracle, who basically just runs Batman's underground information network...Almost as lame as Robin II...>_> But she later teamed up w/Black Canary to form the all girl duo called Birds of Prey...

Can you edit that post so it makes sense? Thanks muchly.

I'm with those that think that Burton's Joker was pretty overrated. This version of the Joker looks like a vast improvement.

It's been known that Dent will be in the movie for a while. However it does show that we'll hopefully see a lot more of Two-Face than we thought. The scene in the car for the example.

Ever read the Green Arrow comics from GAv2? You know, after Ollie's soul attaches to the ressurected husk of the silver age Ollie that Hal Jordan selfishly created before he died... blah... anyway, he's been out of it for so long that he doesn't know shit about current technology, and he's trying to have Barbara help him find someone he doesn't recognize who happens to be in a picture from his funeral, and she just totally screws with him over the phone... lol... it was funny as hell... kinda hard to explain, but if you've read the comics, you get what I mean.

Yeah, I pretty much came in my pants when I saw that trailer. Ledger looks like he did an AMAZING job. He looks legitimately terrifying and menacing. (Ps: I'm so selfishly pissed that he died; that means no future Joker in the movies -_-....). I cannot waittttt for this movieeeee.

I dunno...the first Batman series of movies, even Tim Burtons were just so campy...I don't think anyone was supposed to take them all too seriously...but c'mon! That scene when he first sees himself in that lil handheld mirror? That was a great scene.

that means no future Joker in the movies

Yeah, because they'd NEVER just replace a character w/another actor...especially in the BATMAN series! >_<

Me too. I'm of course talking about the whole can't wait for the movie part not the whole came in my pants part.

Well maybe I did a little. Ledger does looks fucking amazing.

There were some nice scenes but he never seemed to be the Joker as we would think of him, or at least how I do. Ledger's performance however makes it seem like he is actually bat-shit crazy.

They won't replace him in Nolan's films, I know they replaced Holmes but nobody cares since she sucked ass anyway. This film will see Two-Face setup as the main villain for the third movie although they were planning to have Joker back, but of course sadly that won't be possible.

Err yeah but is it Heath Ledger? I don't think so. As Scrutator said, Christopher Nolan will probably not replace The Joker. I've only scene trailers and Ledger seems to be the best actor who has played The Joker. Ledger seems to fully grasp how The Joker would actually act and talk. Even during breaks of the film he was able to scare people. The people working on the film were afraid to go near him.

Come on, you would expect Jack Nicholson to play a good Joker after his role in The Shining. In stead, Nicholson was lame as The Joker. :/

I know, that was probably Nolan's biggest mistake of casting Katie Homles as Rachel.
