So anyone else beat Penance and the Dark Aeons?

Title basically asks the questions heh. Has anyone else? I bought the game in 2002 if Im not mistaken and I didn't beat Dark Yojimbo (I had beaten the other Dark Aeons with Zanmato ages ago) until last year. And I did manage to kill Penance last year also. It wasn't so much fighting them as it was training so I can stand a chance against them!
 
I still haven't beat Dark Valefor >_> I could, IF I could summon the Magus Sisters in time. Sadly, it always kills Yuna before her first go -_-
 
Give you a hint, don't rely on your Aeons! It will take time but you need to raise all you character attributes (well at least 3 of them, preferably Wakka, Auron and Tidus, best combination) to 255 and then you need to get their celetrial weapons and some aromor that has +20% defence, counter, auto potion, and something else I forget =\
 
It's not just my Aeons that are over powered, my main 3 are too, but I lack theBreak HP Limit, and the Break Damage limit abilities for all of them, so with only 9999 health...it's a quick death.
 
I only had 9999 health :D you don't need break HP Limit, although break damage is a must; what are your attributes? Like Strength, Defence yadda yadda. Forget Aeons but, they wont stand a chance against Penance, they are your fail-safe against Penance incase he uses Judgemnet Day (Instant Death, looks cool too!)
 
Iv done all up to Dark Anima - who Im too scared to try after the nightmare that Dark Bahamut gave me haha

I can't believe how long that took -_-

I swear I live at the battle arena trying to farm Dark Matters and nodey things. I ended up beating Bahamut with Yuna & Wakka because Auron got repeatedly had off by stone >_<

I need one more Ribbon.....only 99 dark matters to go, then I might feel ready to face Dark Anima :monster:
Not looking forward to redoing those mountain trials tho
 
I managed to beat him once, but considering the amount of effort and time required to be ready for even a five minute match with the thing... that one time was more than sufficient.

Once getting relevant abilities synthesized into armour etc, the battle was overall generally disappointing. Stupid FFX upgrade system. >=(
 
Bah I have a collection of armours with all sorts on them >_< I wish you could swap abilities then I would be fine, Id make them then realise I needed an extra slot because I used my last slot on stone proof for Auron which Dark Bahamut totally bypassed which means I will need to make another for when I eventually face Anima

It was like my second file so I have lots of fuck ups Im still trying to fix :wacky: Im getting there and I refuse to let it beat me
 
nope not got that far yet lol i've just managed to whip dark anima, but cant seem to get past bahamut and the magus sisters are a nightmare lmao done everything else lol ;)
 
I could never manage to beat any of them bar Dark Valefor, and even THEN I had difficulty. My Yuna kicked ass like, the magus sisters pounded the crap outta it.

You did Dark Anima before Bahamut? Have you tried Bahamut yet?? I had an absolute mare with him but if Anima is easier I might just have a go..... If not then, you shouldn't have much triouble with Bahamut as long asyou have ribbons equipped on everone *shakes fist at stoneproof*
 
it depends how high ya stats are lol at the moment my three toughest are tidus auron and yuna they've got about 55000 Hp and every stats at 255 apart from luck so valefor was a walk thru lol it all depends on how much ya play ;)

magus sisters are a proper pain even with armour with ribbon they can inflict full break on ya and it annoying cos ya trying to lift it and mean while they kill everybody lmao

**edit lol yeah some how lol was quite cool really think it's cos bahamut keep's on with impulse and mega flare one after each other
and anima is pretty much just pain, mega-graviton and his basic attack is limp think it inflicted about 6000Hp damage on one a me party ;)
the trick for dark anima is lot's a three stars handy and a good set of aeons to intercept his overdrive
once you've used all ya aeons just keep auto-life and keep using three stars cos oblivion drains ya MP too so haste is essential but dont bother with protect or shell if ya need those then ya not ready but make sure ya stats are maxed out
and ya will need to use aim a lot to score a hit so make sure ya remember when he kill's someone ;)

My stats are all 255 bar luck (magic isnt too far off) but my hp isn't that high SOMEWHERE IN THE REGION OF 20 - 30K i THINK.

I might have to give it a crack later on....

Impulse and dark flare were a pain in the arse, but autolife, again, is a life saver. Tbh, Im not sure how I got thru that battle it took me ages >_<

Sacrifising the aeons is an absolute must, once his overdrive bar was full, Id be getting the aeons out, but it gets hairy once you use them all :wacky:

ya best bet for the HP is get ya armour with ya 4 slot's make sure ya got break HP and ribbon but the last two ya wanna add hp+30% and hp+20% or 10% that way you'll have more lol it's a pain to do but ya best bet is with dark yojimbob lol ya have to beat him 5 times in a row to nail the git but if ya load a saved game in the meanwhile the counter starts again so you could fight him for ever in theory giving ya time to get what ya after ;)
 
Hmm I think mine are Ribbon, hp30%, break hp and something random like auto haste or auto something oh auron has auto phoenix.....:wacky: But Im redoing his armour once I get 99 more dark matters >_<

I think wakkas armour was only 2 slot with ribbon & break hp, Omega or someone dropped it.....and I hate farming dark matters so.....
 
cool auto haste can be useful but not for most of the fight's and yeah dark matters a nightmare to get lol me best bet for the darkies is go thru the monster arena decking all the special's and area creations one after each other i think last week i did that and got 10 dark matters out of 25 fight's so that was cool
 
Yeah thats how I got my last lot for Yunas wapon, its also good for he nodes and shizz but it just takes forever >_<

Edit* I just beat Dark Anima :wacky: first time aswel woohoo, Im so pleasedwith myself, especially after the mare I had with Dark Bahamut that guy was solid. And yet again, becasue I don't have a ribbon for Auron I was left fighting with Yuna & Wakka

Dark magus sisters here I come :monster:
 
I used Yojimbo on the Magus Sisters :wacky: Piad him 13 million aswel, altho I saved it to a seperate file becasue O really want to beat them by my self. I only did it to see if he would take my money & so I could see Penance :wacky:

Alas for some reason I can't seem to find the mofo

Once i get 97 more Dark Matters Im taking them beetches on again :monster:
 
I find Dark Yojimbo and Bahamut to be the hardest of the Dark aeons. Bahamut's Impulse causes Full break - which means everything would deal 99999 damage to you from him. Yojimbo also has the means of doing this.
 
i didn't realise i hadnt done Dark Yojimbo and now the little fucker is giving me the run around,I beat him 4 times and couldnt find the5th >_<

Too keep it short, the whole battle ended up 'resetting' and I have to start it AGAIN

This is doing my head in

Il never get to penance at this rate, I don't know what im doing wrong but it's pissing me off
