Finally, an answer to all this "formerly known as" business in all of our signatures
The Previous Username system is an additional feature on each profile, giving a history of his/her past usernames. when it was changed from that name and who changed it.
Take for example, me: http://www.finalfantasyforums.net/memberslist/riku.html
Now, the table appears just above your post statistics, as you can see. The table tells you that I used to be Riku, then I changed to The Sephiroth Gene (this isn't actually the case - because the system was implemented AFTER I changed my name, it didn't count, so I quickly changed my name so I could use myself as an example. Sorry, it's slightly confusing).
As a better example, let's take "Yuri Volte Hyuga"
http://www.finalfantasyforums.net/memberslist/yuri-volte-hyuga.html
As you can see, his old username was "DragonZ3ro".
Now, if you changed your name before this system was instigated, I'm afraid that your previous username will not feature on your profile. Please do not ask for your name to be changed so it can feature on your profile. I only did this myself as an example.
Basically, the main aim of this added feature is to remove added content into your signatures and to avoid confusion for other members
If you have any questions, feel free to write them here.
Changing you Username
Additionally, members can now change their own username without asking permission from the staff
You can only do so every 60 days - you will be stopped if you try to do this beforehand. Good news is that you have a reminder of the date you last changed name, thanks to the Previous Username system
User CP > Edit E-mail & Password > Edit Username
Very simple. If you have any problems (and I know I just had my fair share) then let us know here. Otherwise, enjoy the new features
