Simply put, I find it best to look at the walkthrough's to see where the best items are and how to get them. Very handy for this game, since some of the stuff is very hard to come by.

The point of this thread is how and where to obtain the rare items in order to get the Ultima blade and other cool weapons and armor.

For example, I know that hycalons (sp?) are stolen from Entites. Yet, I've killed 3 (count 'em, 3!!) of the entites that appear in Jhara (Ozmone Plains). I've stolen from this thing each time, with Thieve's Cuffs equipped. Yet, I've always failed to get the hycalon.

1) what am I doing wrong?
2) Do I have to be at a certain level in order for it to even be obtained/stealable?
3) Would anything I do help make stealing chances better, more than what I've been doing already?

Everyone is welcome to ask for where to steal items and how to steal em. :monster:

On stealing; one thing I could never EVER find were the Diamond Armlets...
I've NEVER found/gotten them...
Is it possible to steal them from someone or are they a Bazzar item?
What?!!

You should have high luck stats and be a level thats quite a bit higher than the monster you are trying to steal from too. Plus, hycalon's are either a Rare/Very Rare steal, so even with Thief's Cuffs you have a 9%/3% chance...

so even with Thief's Cuffs you have a 9%/3% chance...

Son of a flying pink monkey!

I'm going to be doing this for a while. *sigh*

*cries*

As for the Diamond Armlets, you should be able to buy them from the Clan Provisioner in the Muthruu Bazaar when you've reached a high rank. High guardin or something. I forgets exactly. They're 30,000 a pop, so don't buy 3 or anything. One is good enough.

You'll want to be careful with those diamond armlets, alot of items actually require you to NOT be wearing the armlet. And even then the rate is impossible.

Now as for those bloody halycons...ugh, I've stolen from/killed so many entites and haven't gotten a single halycon out of it. The thiefs cuffs don't even help at all ><

Ronin, please tell me you're lying.

GOOD GOD, MAN, TELL ME YOU'RE LYING! *sob*

If they're truly that hard to obtain, I know exactly what I'm going to do.

I'm going to invite my friend over.

And his Gameshark.

I wish I was lying. Actually...I think some items require NOT using the Thief's Cuffs as well, though I'm not sure on that one. I am sure on the Diamond Armlets though. The game is quite a bastard with these things, and with chances on finding items anyway.

The Zodiak Spear in the Henne Mines only has a 1/1000 chance of appearing :wacky:

And uh.....I has had bad experiences with gameshark, I say go with codebreaker.

There is a 5% drop chance from ANY Halcyon. I recommend stealing it before killing it. However, it isn't certain that you will get the Halcyon.

As for thief's cuffs. Yes they increase the chances to 10%.

Diamond armlets are easy to get but they change the treasure you get in many chests. 99% of the chests in Cerobi Steppe require a Diamond Armlet to get their best goodies. However, these 'rarer' items are a mere 5% chance. You can get items like ribbon, Grand Bolts, Icecloud arrows, Formathaut and others.

^_^ :monster:

Emperor Scales are dropped from Archaeoaevis in the Zertinan Caverns. They look like huge wyverns.

There ya go.

Also, if anyone wants a Lifewick, go to the Henne Mines and steal one from a Necrofiend or kill them until a Lifewick is dropped. Be sure to equip Bubble Belts, and whatever you do, DO NOT GO INTO THE SMALL ROOM IN THE NORTHWEST SECTION OF THE SPECIAL CHARTER DIG.

Unless you want to tangle with Zodiark that is.
