Since all you lamers focus on Cloud and Squall so much...

Who do you prefer, Rinoa or Tifa?

I prefer Rinoa, because her Limit, Angel Wing, is easily one of the most powerful limit breaks in that game, if set up correctly. Her character is also vaguely sensible, if a little naive. She doesn't, however, go after someone who's on the rebound, like Tifa did.

KH2 Tifa rocks though.

Rinoa. Tifa's Limit Break sucks so much that I avoided using her whenever possible.

eh!....
This is tough.......
I should say......!.......! I like both....
In terms of Limit breaks Rinoa is much useful than Tifa
In terms of attitude.... I can't say... I like both
In terms of body, well need I say more. That whould be Tifa wuhuu!

Tifa of course, she doesn't even need to use a limit break Rinoa.
let them fight without limit breaks to see who's gonna win.

I would go Tifa, Tho Rinoa's Invincible moon was awesome, i liked Tifa more, her limit was great and I thougth she was a greta healer and fighter. Rinoa was more of a healer for me, i used Quistis instead.

Let's see. Rinoa is a simplistic, idiotic, immature and peretty useless character. She has no plot of he rown to really speak of. Oh wait! She doesn't like her daddy! Like all rich spoiled girls don't because that rich spoiled girl wants to go out and DO something! I guess Rinoa riped off Jasmine and every other rich spoiled girl in history.

But, her purpose in the storyline is non-existent. She's not her own woman. She's not really important at all except that her and Squall will fall in love. That's her only real purpose in the storyline. Tifa, while not claiming much more than that, still had something to her other than "I'll melt the mopey emo loser's heart and then we'll be together forever" stereotype going for her. Not much more, but somewhat more.

Rinoa equals the worst heroine in FF history.

Eiki? Worse than Rinoa? That's pretty...moronic. Eiko was a normal girl. her entire family, her entire people were dead. She's left to shoulder the burden of her people's traditions while grappling with a total lack of family or friendship except for the Moogles. She thus finds Zidane. As she said, she just didn't want to be alone anymore. Add onto that she has to face whether to live for herself and go help Zidane or do what she promised her grandfather. And when she does decide to go and help them, her home is invaded and a priceless treasure stolen.

That was all covered in the last part of Disc 2 and it dwarfs all fo Rinoa's character development in all of FFVIII.

Besides, I was speaking only int erms of main heroine.

That's no excuse for Eiko to be so damned annoying >.>

Rinoa, I think, has much more character development than that. It starts with what she thinks of Squall. First, she thinks he's attractive, but is more interested in Seifer. Because of this, she resents Squall for acting like he does. Rinoa shows a slightly childish but passionate side. Next, she gets concerned about Squall, fearing that his personality might put him in danger. Childish to sensitive, kinda. Sensitivity turns to love. However, she is forced with a major decision in disc three, much like Eiko is.

Does she want to go with Squall, with the one she loves, or does she want to protect everyone around her by locking her Sorceress powers? This, I think, is a much harder choice than Eiko's was. She decides to lock her powers, and persists even when Squall 'rescues' her. She also puts her life on the line to save the world by taking Adel's powers and allowing Ultimecia to possess her.

And anyway, this is Tifa Vs Rinoa, not Eiko Vs Rinoa ^^

i thought that we were talking about Rinoa vs Tifa and not about ff8's story of Rinoa and Squall.
but it's your thread so i won't say anything more about it.

I say Rinoa is better... her limit breaks were better, and i liked her character better...

Rinoa can win any fight without her limit breaks too, btw.

Also, regarding the Rinoa/Squall thing, that was showing Rinoa's character development against Eiko's which, again, was slightly off topic but still more or less relevant.
