FF Music Best OST?

X easy, matter of fact i think its the best game soundtrack ever made, IX is next, beatrix theme is awesome.

hands down, would have to be VIII.

when I first put the game in the disk tray and turned it on, I had wondered whether this soundtrack would rival or best that of VII (I play video games primarily for the musical aspect, focusing less on graphics and playability). I was in for a treat. Liberi Fatali struck me as the best opening theme song for a video game, and I still stick to that belief. later on, I listened to things like The Landing (Dollet mission) and (Balamb city), and just became immersed into the game; I could hardly put it down, wanting to know what awesome and beautiful track would come next.

of the tracks, The Landing and The Legendary Beast would have to be my favorites. I can just imagine a full symphonic orchestra in a stadium filled with Uematsu fans...it gives me chills just typing about it, hehe.

VIII's soundtrack is immensely better than VII's, and i managed to download several songs from one of Uematsu's concerts, it sounds quite impressive live. Of course i'm sure nothing could ever compare to actually hearing it firsthand...but i doubt i'll ever get the chance for that.

IMO it's gonna be IX. every piece seems to be inspired and not just any random melody, it has the most number of arranged albums. It's even reported twice that Uematsu claims it as his favorite among his works.

FFVI's soundtrack. I can pretty much listen through the three CD's and only skip a track occasionally. The other ones have great music too, but with them I find my self fast forewarding through many of the tracks.

For me, FFVIII’s soundtrack is by far the best as well as the most memorable followed closely by FFIX and FFX.

Anyway, VIII’s soundtrack is one I can listen to over and over, especially the ending of disc 4.

I really can't decide on my favourite. They're all full of emotion and beautiful pieces of music. Sometimes I like one better than the other. It really does depend on my mood.

I suppose I could say I have a favourite three. Those would be VIII, IX and X. Don't get me wrong, though. One of my favourite songs of all time is 1000 words from X-2. It's just I don't like many of the songs on X-2s OST.

The music in VIII always reminds me of a particular moment or place. The emotions expressed there, or the discoveries. It fits in so well with the story and I can almost play back scenes in my mind when I listen to certain tracks. I have to say, I didn't enjoy it so much before I played more of the game. It's an OST that's better appreciated after thorough gameplay.

IX is much the same. There are some tranquil pieces in there that I like regardless, but to find a deeper meaning in each piece it's necessary to play the game.

X has always been an OST I've enjoyed listening to. To Zanarkand remains one of my favourite instrumental pieces of music, and the Ending theme is just wonderful. Haha. I can't decide between those three.

Mine would have to be VII. I think the VII soundtrack had a slight pop-classical feel to it. IX was very baroque which I liked as well. On the downside I was a bit disappointed in V's music (except for Exdeath theme!)

Ugh I can't choose my favorite game soundtrack. I love FFVI, VII, VIII and IX soundtrack. I hate you Venge, I can't choose one favorite. >_< Ughh Nobou Uematsu is too damn good as a composer.

I guess my favorite tracks are:

FFVI - Terra's theme (Awakening), Mystic Forest, Celes's theme, Devil's lab. Another world of beasts, fierce battle, and Dancing Mad.

FFVII - Anxious Heart, Shinra compamy, flowers blooming in the chruch, Turk's theme, Still more fighting, Crazy motorcycle, Rufus's welcoming ceremony, J-e-n-o-v-a, Aerith's theme, One winged angel.

FFVII - Liberi fatali, force your way, Breezy, Roses and wine, Sucession of witches, premonition, eyes on me, The castle, The legendary beast, and the successor.

FFIX - Vivi's theme, Captivating eyes, Queen of the abyss, awakened forest, battle theme, reckless Steiner, Zidane's theme, Cid's theme, Kuja's theme, the sword of doubt, wicked melody.

Ugh too lazy to name the rest.

for me it's X-2's OST, i always liked piano pieces and this one also has some computerized stuff in it, mixed together it actually became a very nice song

and the memories attached to the song really do strengthen it, i even feel it by just thinking about it

You kidding oO
It's the worst FF OST (and the worst game also).

For me (and a lot of people), it's FFVIII, with its many nice songs ; FFIX in second and FFVI in third (bad quality because of the midi format but great compositions). FFVII is a little weird and there is a few of good tracks.
