If you don't like rap then that's okay you don't have to read this thread.

well i like raps, rap seems pretty good to me.

my favorite artist

eminem
kanye west
2pac
fort minor
50 cent
Snoop Dog
Jay-Z

Eminem was good, but his last three of four were a bit crap I thought. He tried to make them really powerful and have a lot of meaning, but it just didn't happen for me.
Kanye West is pretty good though. I'm not really a big rap fan myself; I rarely listen to it really, but at times I don't mind it. The odd song is good.

I've been listening to alot of rap for a few years now, I like all the favourites like 2 Pac, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, Jay Z and even Eminem even though I can't stand his voice, his old stuff is first class.

At the moment I'm really into the whole Atlanta scene type rappers like Ludacris, Lil' Jon, T.I. and the Ying Yang Twins.

I'm okay with hip hop and rap, but definitely not my type of music. I only listen to them when I have no choice (my uncle blaring the music in the car). Eminem's stuff was pretty cool back when he was still new, although I know many others found him to be very annoying. Still, I admit I enjoyed a few of his songs back in the days.

Exactly what I mean, he's gone down hill since the Marshal Mathers LP.

I've always found it hilarious that TuPac has sold so much so long after his death. I'm willing to bet a hell of a lot of money that he wouldn't be half as successful had he not been killed.

^ Dude, I have about 4 Albums.

Funny, I don't normally buy an artist's albums if I deem them "overrated"

Oh I think he would have done.

Had he not died, he would have written much better stuff than all the remixed shit that's being brought out after his death.

Everyone gets blown out of proportion after they're dead. Kurt Cobain and Freddy Mercury were the same. Nirvana and Queen were nowhere near as popular and 'legendary' as they are now back when they were alive.

Sometimes it takes the death of a great person for people to realise just how great they were. Most celebrities don't get half the recognition they deserve whilst alive. As soon as they pop their clogs though, it's a different fucking story. :monster:

We've so spammed this thread now. :wacky:

Personally, I can't stand that materialistic type of rap. It's horrible, and practically a new-age minstrel show for us black youth.

Though some artists I do do like are:
Nas
Common
Kanye West (he's alright, nothing to write home about)
Immortal technique
Del tha Funkee Homosapien
Dilated peoples
The Roots
Madvillain/King Geedorah/MF Doom
Outkast (What can I say? I'm a native born georgian myself)
Goodie Mob
Binary Star
Pumpkinhead
Diabolic
Jurassic 5
The Beatnuts
Hieroglyphics
Handsome Boy Modeling School
K-OS
A tribe called quest
...And rhymefest, just to name a few American artists.

Honestly, Pac and Biggie were alright, though I have more respect for 2Pac for his deeds. But the only song from him that I really loved was "California Love".
