Just a few months ago I bought DQVIII. After playing 150+ hours through, I was finally able to beat the game. The world map is gigantic so exploring every inch really takes some time. The story starts of a bit slow but after a certain point it takes you on a ride you’ll never forget. There are many things to do on your journey and the side quests are very addictive. I really liked the British voices used for the characters although some were a bit annoying. Also a bit disappointing is the fact that the main character never talks but nothing you could not get used too I think.

/sorry for the rant but I really enjoyed the game. Any of you people played DQVIII? or planning on buying/playing it? Tell me what you think or want to know about it.

Cheers – Tobian

I bought it and it was one of the best RPG's ive every played (considering that i only play RPG's). It really takes me back to simple RPG's where everything was MP and nothing very complicated with all the materia, junctioning, spehere grid and stuff! Im waiting very eagerly for DQ9!!

It's a good game but it's way to repetitive, it gets samey. Plus i don't like the cutie cutie dragon ball z style character they are a bit annoying on the eye. Even though yangus is ace. I can play the game but it's nothin i can really get into for to long before getting bored of the 5 hours of leveling the characters.

Try liquid metal slimes once you hit lvl 40 at the last island to the left of the dungeon, you can fight them at night and they come often and come in big groups, sometimes in pairs of 7!! And gold golems at daytime for loads of money.

once im at level 40? erm thats gonna take me years to get to..... im only level 19 now, (just about to get the boat) screw it i'm gonna cheat and get loads of exp points....

Xehanort Nobody[/B]]I'm currently working on beating the Dargovian Trials which means lvl up lot.
Im also stuck on that, the bosses there are really really hard >_<

Old school gameplay with current-gen graphics, awesome combination for JRPG of the year. The British actors were a godsend after hearing shitty, overacted American V/Os, FFX anyone?

I'm also on those Dragovian Trials. Moving very slowly for me since I get really discouraged after I loose and then don't end up playing for weeks, and then when I do train a bit and then die again.... Vicous Cycle
