Have you mistaken Zidane for a girl?

zidane's the man. i never thought he was a girl...what kind of girl name would be zidane anyway?

I never thought of Zidane as a girl; were there any flat-chested girls in IX? I can't seem to remember.
 
Kuja's body is like any other Genomes with the hourglass figure. The make-up and gorgeous hair is his unique trait, however.
 
Zidane, a girl? No, I've never mistaken him for one. I'd be surprised if there was so much open girl/girl flirting done, to be honest..."she" going after Dagger, touching her butt, Eiko going after "her"....one big yuri-fest. No, it never confused me.

Kuja, on the other hand, I found it hard to believe he was a guy at first, but I've accepted it since then.

And honestly, am I the only one who was tempted to believe Queen Brahne was a man (in drag)?

I couldn't figure out what the hell Brahne was. I guess Kuja said it best when he called her "elephant lady."

As for Zidane, I never thought he was a girl but I do think he has woman hips. Either way, he's still one of the best main characters, IMO. :D
 
Brahne just scared me...way too FUGLY to be shown in the FMVs.

Anyway...onto Zidane. Amano's artwork of Zidane depicts him almost as effeminate as Kuja, but in-game he always looked like a guy to me.

As for that guy looking like a girl thing...bishounen (effeminate guys) has been around for a long time, not only Japanese aesthetics but in Hinduism itself (so blame it on the Indians if you dont like it). It's basically the concept of beauty and sexual attraction not being limited to a single gender.

And frankly, as an American male, i find that perspective very refreshing. I get so tired of the constant image of what a "man" is supposed to be: brutish and carnivorous. It makes males seem stupid and shallow, plus i've never had any of that in my personality or physique. If anything, my physique is asian. So yeah...yay for bishounen and yay for Final Fantasy IX ^_^

I never thought Kuja was a girl, Its a fashion scene in Japan called Visual Kei to dress up as a female basically, I know this cause one of my fav. bands does this(Moi Dix Mois)

Oooh, we got a Moi Dix Mois fan on the forums! (but Malice Mizer is better <.<) Hmm...not sure if i'd call Kuja's dress style Visual Kei though, since that's usually just bands doing it for fun (and fangirls), and kids doing it in Harajuku. VK is usually more gaudy too, and not as revealing. Seems to me like he's just an extreme narcissist and he likes to show off his figure.
