If you woke up one morning and found that you were transported to a different world where you knew no one and were unfamiliar with anything, how would you react and what would be the first thing that you would do?

Personally, I'd just walk around and explore, I'd take this opportunity before actually figuring out why the heck I was where I was.
That's just me, I wouldn't look for help immediately, I mean, if I was alright, then it must be obvious that no harm was done to me, right?

Now yours. :P

Well, my first reaction would be, "Where the f*ck am I? I'd better still be a virgin :|"

That would be followed by a curious, yet fearful, exploration around the general area. The purpose of the exploring would mostly be for finding out any and all hiding spaces and looking for something to protect myself with. After all, you never know what sort of creeps could be around.

Id mostly be curious, id gave to explore see whats out there, what kind of people are around. Then probaly id get a little worried and wonder if i could get back ...

But, oh come on, it's a completely different world that's out there waiting, and you're basically free of all constraints and you're independent...you'd freak out, is it?

I'd take advantage of it for the time being, because the time will come when you figure out what you're destined for...but I guess keeping a few memories from back home wouldn't hurt, you can't forget those you love either. Dilemma, dilemma.

Well, I'd be forcing a smile all of the time, despite my fear and anxiousness so the locals would know I'm docile. (A smile can be understood in any language)

Other than that, my exploration sense would be tingling.

A smile can mean different things, of course. ;)

But all the time? That's a bit creepy in my opinion.
And you do know what a person looks like when he/she smiles while nervous, right? o_O
You'd probably get clobbered right away. :P

So what is it? Getting freaked out and exploring are all there is to waking up in a new world? Now this reminds me of KH.

I would first try to find a reasonable explanation to my presence here, and begin with finding useful information about this new world. A Library containing the story of the world would be useful and I could use it as an advantage to quickly adapt to this new environment.

Also I would search for anything that I could use as a weapon to defend myself.

About remembering those I left behind...I am not sure....there's no use on living in the past....though I would miss them...

No, y'know what? I'd just follow Tidus' example. Explore a bit to find a familiar face, talk to the first people to find me, even though they have no clue as to what I'm saying, and when I find someone who could benefit from my talent, follow 'em.

First off, I would panic. I panic when I go to new places on my own. Im terrified of being lost and alone. Yes, theres a new world to explore, but Id need a while to calm down before I started having a look around.

Haha, I suppose that would be a good strategy lol.

Since you have no way of knowing how to get out or going about, I guess it'd be best to just calm down and find a way to think clearly first before attempting anything, which, if you are freaked out, would mean doing something rash, stupid, or just plain bad.

Sounds FFX-ish.

I'd no doubt question everything possible to figure out why I'm there and the reason behind everything, but it wouldn't delay me from starting off on a good foot and trying to meet as many people as possible and fit in. Sure I may never be a real life inhabitant of that place, but you have to make the best of difficult situations.

Yes, in fact I took part of it from KHII as well. ;)

Yeah, I totally agree, you have to make the best of the situation if you want to survive and make it back to your own world, galaxy, dimension, whatever.
Even if you didn't really exist in that new world, you can always make an impact on it in some way.

I know I’d probably freak out a little bit, only natural.

Then I’d explore a little, see if I could pick up on a little bit of the general language (I’m assuming this new world probably doesn’t speak English). Next I’d try to figure out just what the hell happened and where exactly I was not to mention doing what’s needed in order to survive.

I would walk around and explore.
Talk to locals and find out about this place.

Maybe go on an RPG quest to get home.
This thread reminds me of FFTA.

This sounds like the plot of some anime or video game. And in said situation, the charcter would at first be thinking something on the lines of ' WTF?!', then they would meet a character from that world maybe who sort of guides them and tells them about the world. If not, then they would end up exploring and learning about the world by theirself, while looking for a way back to theirs.

-I think that I would react just about the same way.

Uhm...I would undoubtedly cry. Quite miserably in fact...
As I stated in my "home is where the heart is" thread which was erased during the server restoration...there are two people in this world who mean everything to me; my dad and my significant other. Just the thought of being in a world without them is depressing somehow. I'm quite blind without them.

But wouldn't you sacrifice everything to find them again?
Would you go out on a search on how to return home in order to see them?

Most definitely. I would give up both of my kidneys, five inches of my lung, three or four toes, and one of my eyeballs possibly to see them again...with my remaining eye...

That would be quite the horrific experience. =[
