Does acceptance really make things easier for you to move on with something or does it hinder you more now that you've fully realized its full impact on your life?

Or does it make things all around easier and more comfortable?
Does it really make things better for you?

Personally, I don't really know.

Acceptance of that which is does.
But I believe that you also need understanding to go along with this acceptance.

Understand, then accept.

Well it depends. For some, acceptance is tough so they cower from it. For others, they remain composed and deal with it, be it troublesome or not. I admire that.

I believe that acceptance is vital to humanity for it makes us realize the "truth". But whether to accept the truth or not is the problem, sometimes. Some people would rather not accept the truth for fear of being hurt - usually emotional-wise. So they don't accept what's already in front of them.

Others are the opposite. They "know" what's in it for them and still accept the truth. I'm sure it's hard to accept something, but some are just realist enough to handle the situations.

So you see, acceptance is an all-around basis. There's pros and cons on both side - whether you accept or not. It's just a manner of how you deal with it and what the circumstances are.

Yeah, obviously we can't accept things that we don't understand. Well, at least not in a rational way. =\

Admire the latter? Then yeh. :P
Then of course there are the people who are in between. =\

That's the tough thing, and easily the most stubborn aspect of humanity.
Stubborn I think fits it well.
People sometimes just throw all advice and consolation to the wind and don't accept things that are already there. I think it's because of...denial, I suppose, as in a relationship? =\
Or because like you, said, they are hurt by the truth.
A well known slogan.

What aspects of human life aren't? ;)

Agreed! Understanding is vital before acceptance takes place in my opinion, but yes, acceptance has always made it easier to move on, even though it can be a jagged pill to swallow.

Understanding is definitely a key to making it easier, but ultimately for me after the impact of something hits I'm more than likely to just accept it and move on whether I understand it or not. Because no matter how hard I try to explain it away (and I can get pretty analytical so I'm fairly tenacious in trying to figure it out) I still can't change it. It's there, I'm going to have to deal with that, and the sooner I do the sooner I can get on with life.
